Relatório de Estágio em Farmácia Comunitária e Monografia Intitulada: “HIV in the Portuguese LGBT Community”

Abstract

O presente documento é constituído pelo Relatório de Estágio em Farmácia Comunitária e pela monografia intitulada "HIV in the LGBT Community".No relatório é feita uma análise SWOT (traduzindo: Forças, Fraquezas, Oportunidadese Ameaças) cuja premissa é analisar o estágio tendo em conta duas dimensões: dimensãointerna, avaliada pelos seus pontos fortes e pontos fracos; e dimensão externa, avaliada pelassuas oportunidades e ameaças. A presente análise irá englobar ambas as dimensões atravésde uma contextualização de cada um dos seus pontos relativamente ao papel do estágio e oMICF na integração do estudante no mercado de trabalho.O estágio decorreu de 11 de setembro de 2017 a 17 de janeiro de 2018 na Farmácia Saúde,Figueira da Foz, sob orientação da Diretora Técnica: Dr.ª Anabela Mascarenhas.Quanto à monografia:Homens que têm sexo com homens e transexuais continuam a representar grupos de riscoda infeção pelo Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana (VIH). Ambos os grupos são membros dacomunidade de Lésbicas, Gays, Bissexuais e Transexuais (LGBT) e Portugal é um dos paíseseuropeus com maior prevalência de infeção por VIH. Os comportamentos de risco e aprevalência de infeção por VIH necessitam de ser avaliados urgentemente para que possa serprevenida no futuro.Os dados deste estudo foram recolhidos através de um questionário distribuído a pessoasque pertencem abertamente à comunidade LGBT, e que foram contactadas nos Pride Paradesde Portugal e em outros locais de encontro da comunidade LGBT.Um total de 532 questionários foram considerados válidos. Entre os participantes, aprevalência de VIH é de 2% com maior prevalência entre os HSH (6%). Sete porcento dosparticipantes que são HSH referem ter tido mais que 20 parceiros sexuais nos últimos seismeses. No mesmo período 7% dos participantes homossexuais admitem terem praticadomais que 50 relações sexuais desprotegidas. Apenas 60% dos participantes conhecia o seuserotipo de VIH.A prevalência de VIH na comunidade LGBT é muito maior que na restante populaçãoportuguesa, no entanto, os valores são semelhantes aos obtidos por outros estudosefetuados na mesma população alvo.

The present document is a combined work of a Report on Community Pharmacy Internship and Monograph titled: “HIV in the Portuguese LGBT Community”.The report is constituted by a SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) evaluation, it objective is to evaluate the internship in two different dimensions: an intern dimension: evaluated by strong points and week points, and an external dimension evaluated by the opportunities and threats. The presented analysis is constituted by both dimensions through a classification of each point about the internship and the Master Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences roles on the integration of a student in the job world.The internship happed at Farmácia Saúde, in Figueira da Foz, from 11th September 2017 to 17th January 2018 under the supervision of Dra. Anabela Mascarenhas.About the Monograph:Men who have sex with men (MSM) and transsexuals continue to be an at-risk populationfor Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. These two groups are members of theLesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) Community and Portugal has one of thehighest prevalence of HIV infection in all Europe. HIV infection risk behaviours andprevalence need to be measured urgently so it can be prevented in the future.Data were collected from a questionnaire delivered and answered in by people who areopenly part of the LGBT Community who were interviewed during Portuguese PrideParades and at gay venues.A total of 532 questionnaires were considered valid to analysis. Among our respondents,HIV prevalence was 2% with the highest prevalence (6%) among MSM. Seven per cent of therespondents who belong to the MSM group had more than 20 sexual partners in the last sixmonths. In the same period of time 7% of the homosexual respondents admitted havingunprotected sexual intercourse more than 50 times. Only 60% of the respondents knewtheir HIV serotype.The HIV prevalence in the LGBT community is much higher than in the general Portuguesepopulation, but similar to other studies conducted with the same target population.
