Qual o impacto da Orientação Sexual na visão e legitimação da Violência entre Parceiros Íntimos?

Abstract

O presente estudo tem como objetivo principal analisar as Representações Sociais em torno da Violência entre Parceiros Íntimos e as táticas de resolução de conflito dos inquiridos, tendo em conta a orientação sexual dos mesmos. Para tal, foi administrado um protocolo a 170 sujeitos, dos quais 50% são heterossexuais, 31,2% são homossexuais e 18.8% são bissexuais. Este protocolo é constituído pelos seguintes questionários: Questionário Sociodemográfico e de Dados Complementares, Questionário de Violência Conjugal – Causa, Manutenção e Resolução (QVC-CMR) (Alarcão, Alberto, Correia & Camelo, 2007), Escalas de Táticas de Conflito Revisadas (The Revised Conflict Tactics Scales - CTS2), Questionário de Violência Conjugal – Histórias (QRVC-HIS) (Alarcão, Alberto, Correia & Camelo, 2007) e a versão portuguesa da Grelha de Orientação Sexual de Klein (Pereira, Leal & Maroco, 2010). Os resultados obtidos neste estudo demonstraram a não existência de diferenças estatisticamente significativas atendendo à orientação sexual dos sujeitos, tendo em conta os fatores de causa, manutenção e resolução, tal como em relação à legitimação da violência entre parceiros íntimos e às táticas de resolução de conflito. Estes resultados indicam ainda um baixo grau de legitimação da violência entre parceiros íntimos na amostra total e nas três subamostras, assim como mostram que a tática de resolução de conflito abusiva mais perpetrada pela amostra total e pelas suas subamostras é a agressão psicológica ligeira. Para investigações futuras sobre esta temática, será importante considerar-se uma amostra maior, sobretudo nas subamostras homo e bissexual, e mais heterogénea nas três subamostras, de modo a obter uma amostra total mais representativa da população geral.

The study at hand main purpose is to analyse the Social Representations delimited by Violence between Intimate Partners and the strategy engaged by the respondents, taking to account their sexual orientation. It was administrated a protocol to 170 individuals, 50% of them being heterosexual, 31,2% are homosexual and 18.8% are bisexual. The protocol is fostered by the following survey: the Socio-demographic and Complemented Data Survey, by the Conjugal Violence – Causes, Maintenance and Resolution Survey (QVC-CMR) (Alarcão, Alberto, Correia & Camelo, 2007), the Revised Confilict Tactics Scales (CTS2), the Conjugal Violence Survey – Reports (QRVC-HIS) (Alarcão, Alberto, Correia & Camelo, 2007) and finally the Portuguese version of the Klein´s Sexual Orientation Grill (Pereira, Leal & Maroco, 2010).The results obtained in this study demonstrate the lack of statistically significant differences, in view of sexual orientation of the individuals in support of the causes, maintenance and resolution factors, as compared to the legitimation of violence between intimate partners and conflict resolution tactics. This results show a low grade of legitimation of violence between intimate partners in the total sample and on the three subsamples as well as conflict resolution abusive tactic more perpetuated by the total sample and by its subsamples being the slight psychological aggression. For further investigations about this matter it would be important to consider a bigger sample in particular the homo and bisexual subsamples and more heterogeneous on the three subsamples, in order to obtain a more representative sample of the general population.
