In this study, field and cabinet/office studies were carried out to study the stability problems of five road slopes situated along National Road 280, which are located on the Leba’s Sierra, nearby the limits between Huíla and Namibe Provinces. The slopes show whitish to yellowish quartz-arenites and arenites, and reddish vulcanoclastites. Debris deposits occur on the slope crest. The most important failures are rock falls and landslides. Sometimes are identified toppling failures. The falling rock material can be present at the toe of slopes and can reach the roadway. The work is constituted by six chapters. The first one presents an introduction of the study. The second one describes the landslides types. The third chapter carries out the geography and geology of the studied area. The fourth chapter presents the methodology used, including the Rock Mass Classification (RMR) and Rockfall Hazard Rating System (RHRS). The fifth chapter is to describe the RMR and RHRS results, and the slope movement’s characterization. The final chapter presents the main conclusions. In this study, field and cabinet/office studies were carried out to study the stability problems of five road slopes situated along National Road 280, which are located on the Leba’s Sierra, nearby the limits between Huíla and Namibe Provinces.
