Recolha e análise de dados na valorização da componente prática da Geografia: estratégia aplicada ao “Clima”

Abstract

O presente relatório visa apresentar uma reflexão sobre as atividades letivas e extra letivas realizadas no contexto do Estágio Pedagógico Supervisionado, desenvolvido na Escola Básica de 2º e 3º Ciclos Inês de Castro, em Coimbra, no decurso do ano letivo 2016/2017. Apresenta-se, ainda, uma estratégia de ensino, no âmbito da unidade temática “O clima”, baseada na valorização da componente prática da Geografia e aplicação de conhecimentos em contexto de ensino/aprendizagem.Na primeira parte apresenta-se uma caracterização geral da escola e das turmas afetas durante o Estágio Pedagógico Supervisionado, assim como a descrição de algumas atividades realizadas. Posteriormente é apresentada e analisada a implementação da estratégia de ensino-aprendizagem proposta. A estratégia foca-se no conhecimento e compreensão da variação espacial e temporal das variáveis precipitação e temperatura. Para estudar estas duas variáveis consideramos os seguintes fatores: altitude, latitude e distância ao litoral. A exploração do comportamento espacial e temporal dos dois elementos climáticos e a sua relação com os fatores geográficos permitiu reforçar a componente de aplicação, através da análise de conceitos elementares da unidade temática, e também do papel dos diferentes fatores geográficos na diferenciação climática regional em Portugal.A estratégia didática baseou-se num trabalho de grupo e na utilização das TIC (Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação), onde foi possível valorizar a componente experimental/prática da Geografia, sendo que os alunos tiveram um papel central na construção do seu próprio conhecimento. Os objetivos propostos foram alcançados, uma vez que a grande maioria dos alunos recolheu corretamente as variáveis, efetuou os cálculos pretendidos e respondeu acertadamente à maioria das questões da ficha de trabalho.

This report seeks to present a reflection on the curricular and extra-curricular activities undertaken in the Supervised Pedagogical Internship, in the Inês de Castro 2º and 3º cycle´s basic school, in Coimbra. A teaching strategy is also presented, on the theme “The Climate”, built around the valuing of the practical component in Geography and the application of knowledge in a teaching-learning context.In the first part, a general characterization of the school and classes assigned to the author during the Supervised Pedagogical Internship is presented, as well as a description of some of the performed activities. Subsequently, the implementation of the proposed teaching-learning strategy is presented and analyzed. This strategy is focused on knowing and comprehending the spatial and temporal variations of the precipitation and temperature variables. To study these two variables, the following factors were considered: elevation, latitude and distance to the coast. Exploring the spatial and temporal behavior of the two climatic elements and their relationship with the geographic factors reinforced the pratical component, trough the analysis of elementary concepts in the thematical unit and of the role of different geographical factors in the regional climatic differentiation in Portugal. The didactic strategy was based on group work and the use of Communication and Information Technologies (CIT), creating the opportunity to value the experimental/practical component of Geography, giving a central role to the students in building their own knowledge. The proposed objectives were reached, as most students correctively retrieved the variables, performed the necessary calculations and answered correctly to most of the questions poised in the work sheet.
