Abstract: Objetivos: O presente estudo estudou a hipótese da transmissão geracional davulnerabilidade ao trauma até à terceira geração. Numa primeira hipótese,estudou a relação entre o diagnóstico de Perturbação de Stress Pós-traumático(PTSD) dos pais veteranos e o diagnóstico de Vitimização Secundária de filhos enetos que apresentem vitimização secundária. Numa segunda hipótese, ainfluência de vivências familiares negativas na infância estarem associadas àpresença de psicopatologia e sintomatologia física (STSD).Métodos: A amostra foi composta por 195 participantes: 50 ex-combatentes daGuerra Colonial Portuguesa (com e sem diagnóstico PTSD); 45esposas/companheiras; 50 filhos e 50 netos. Foram utilizados os seguintesinstrumentos de avaliação: um questionário sóciodemográfico de auto-respostapara a caracterização da amostra; Questionário de Experiência de Combate(Carvalho, Cunha & Pinto, 2008); Inquérito sobre o impacto do Stress de Guerrano Ex- Combatente e sua família e Questionário de Vivências Familiares naInfância (QVFI; Pereira & Pedras, 2008, cit. por Pereira & Pedras 2010a).Resultados: O estudo revelou que os familiares (esposas e filhos) do GrupoClínico apresentam valores médios mais elevados relativamente a patologias,vivência de experiências negativas, e uma maior tendência para odesenvolvimento de uma traumatização secundária. Assim, a hipótese 1 foi a maisrepresentativa dos resultados.Conclusão: Constata-se que não existe vulnerabilidade ao trauma que afete umaterceira geração.
Aims: The present study was designed to studied the hypothesis of generationaltransmission of vulnerability to trauma to the third generation. In the firsthypothesis, he studied the relationship between the diagnosis of post-traumaticstress disorder (PTSD) of the veteran fathers and the diagnosis of secondaryvictimization of children and grandchildren that present secondaryvictimization. In a second hypothesis, the influence of negative familyexperiences in childhood are associated with the presence of psychopathologyand physical symptoms (STSD).Methods:The sample was composed of 195 participants: 50 ex combatants of thePortuguese colonial War (with and without diagnosis PTSD); 45Wives/companions; 50 sons and 50 grandchildren. The following evaluationinstruments were used: a questionnaire Sóciodemográfico of response for thecharacterisation of the sample; Combat Experience Questionnaire (oak, Wedge& Pinto, 2008); Inquiry on the impact of war stress on the ex-combatant andhis family and questionnaire of family experiences in childhood (QVFI; Pereira& Stones, 2008, cit. by Pereira & Stones 2010a).Results: The study revealed that the relatives (wives and children) of theclinical group presented higher average values for pathologies, experiencingnegative experiences, and a higher tendency to develop a secondarytraumatize. So, the hypothesis 1 was the most representative of the results.Conclusions: It is noted that there is no vulnerability to trauma affecting athird generation.Key-Word: Trauma; Vulnerability; Family; Mental Health; PTSD.
