Abstract "Portugal 2020" is the partnership agreement between Portugal and the European Commission, which brings together the work of five European Structural Funds and investment and takes into account a wide range of opportunities and investment in the period 2014-2020 programming. The goal of this program is to ensure the success and effectiveness of the country in order to make it more competitive and sustainable, so it is a current and interesting theme. It is important to mention that we're in a time of recovery of investment trust, in which the Bank seeks to recover good financial results. Banking needs to extend credit, and can explore the "Portugal 2020" in a perspective similar to factoring. On the other hand, companies want to explore growth opportunities and how to get money. To make matters worse, most companies have few own reserves to invest, because of the crisis, which leads to the reduction of sales, and the respective financial results, in addition to possible restructuring. In order to overcome this problem, it is expected that these funds will bring a good development for businesses, making them stable in relation to the banks that supported the growth. Raquel Carvalho, in an article in Diário Económico, says that banks are already anticipating these funds through community resources and financial products, ensuring the needs of capital outside of the investment projects. This study aims to present the Portugal Program 2020, its constitution, its advantages and disadvantages, some of its projects and the contribution that could have (or will have) in the banking sector
