Keywords: | Surface tension; Interfacial tension; Correlation; Prediction; Methanol | Issue Date: | 2003 | Citation: | Fluid Phase Equilibria. 208:1-2 (2003) 1-21 | Abstract: | The surface tension in the homogeneous domain of the ternary liquid mixtures water + n-butyl acetate + methanol and water + n-pentyl acetate + methanol as well as of the constituent binaries has been measured at 303.15 K and atmospheric pressure. The respective excess surface tension was correlated as a function of the composition using empirical and thermodynamic-based relations. The liquid interfacial tension was measured in the liquid-liquid equilibrium range at the same conditions of temperature and pressure. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10316/3814 | DOI: | 10.1016/S0378-3812(02)00320-5 | Rights: | openAccess |
