dc.description.sponsorship | The historiography has devoted much attention to the study of Portuguese emigration flow occurred in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. However, on the reflux of this moment, little is known. This study aims exactly to bridge this gap by addressing the following questions: can we find in the Folklore some echo about the acculturation of Portuguese immigrants in Brazil and the respective dissemination through the country of origin? What was the impact? In what regions he was stronger? Who were the main protagonists of that cultural transmission? After presenting a brief scope of the causes, consequences and statistics of Portuguese emigration to Brazil during the chosen period, we will try to answer these questions by analyzing the lyrics of popular Portuguese music. For the first time it will be collected some folk songs dating from the early twentieth century, from various regions, which show how the massive emigration was present in everyday life and in the subconscious of the Portuguese who stayed in the country. They also enable to study the cultural reflux played by those who left. | por |
