Abuso sexual infantil

Abstract

O abuso sexual infantil faz parte das grandes problemáticas que as sociedades e sistemas de proteção à criança atualmente enfrentam. O trabalho realizado teve por objetivo alertar para a dimensão deste problema que acarreta consequências gravíssimas para a vítima, família e comunidade. Os temas abordados foram: prevalência; estudo do perfil da vítima, do agressor e dinâmica familiar; métodos diagnósticos atualmente disponíveis; consequências para a vítima; prevenção e possíveis intervenções terapêuticas e, por último, legislação em vigor. Para a realização deste estudo, efetuou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica de artigos publicados entre 1988 e 2015 nos idiomas: “Português”; “Inglês”; e “Espanhol”. Concluiu-se que, em Portugal, as taxas de prevalência rondam os 14,5%, número que acresceria sobremaneira se todos os casos estivessem notificados. As vítimas são maioritariamente do género feminino, contrariamente ao que acontece com o agressor. O abuso intrafamiliar representa uma percentagem significativa de casos. Constatou-se que não existe nenhum método de diagnóstico de eleição para este crime, pelo que são necessários mais estudos neste campo. Quanto às consequências, salientou-se a alta prevalência de patologia psiquiátrica, destacando-se a depressão e o risco acrescido de suicídio. Analisou-se a necessidade do trabalho em rede, articulado, contínuo e integrado como único meio para uma prevenção eficaz. As estratégias preventivas devem envolver a criança, família e sociedade civil, trabalhando na consciencialização destes elementos. Por último, ressalva-se a violação dos direitos da criança associada a tão brutal crime. Estudos e investigações adicionais são necessários no sentido de encontrar a real prevalência do abuso e desenvolver meios de combate a este crime, quer ao nível do diagnóstico, quer no que refere a prevenção e estratégias terapêuticas de minimização do impacto causado. Child sexual abuse is part of the major problems that the societies and the child protection systems currently face. The work aimed to alert for the scale of this problem that causes serious consequences for the victim, family and community. The themes addressed were: prevalence; study the profile of the victim, the aggressor and family dynamics; diagnostic methods currently available; consequences for the victim; prevention and possible therapeutic interventions and, finally, the legislation. For this study, it was performed a bibliographic research for articles published between 1988 and 2015 in the languages: "Portuguese"; "English"; and "Spanish". It was concluded that, in Portugal, the prevalence rates are around 14.5%, numbers that would add greatly if all cases were notified. The victims are mainly female. The contrary happens with the aggressor. The intra-familial abuse represents a significant percentage of cases. It was found that there is no gold-standard for the diagnosis of this crime, by that more studies are necessary in this field. As to the consequences, it was pointed out the high prevalence of psychiatric pathology, highlighting the depression and the increased risk of suicide. Only an articulate, continuous and integrated work, can lead to effective prevention. The preventive strategies should involve the child, family and civil society, working in an awareness of these elements. Finally, it was emphasized the violation of the rights of the child associated to such brutal crime. Studies and further investigations are needed in order to find the true prevalence of abuse. It must be developed ways to combat this crime, as in diagnosis, as in prevention and treatment strategies for minimising the impact caused.
