Sólon e as normas sobre prostituição e a instituição de bordéis em Atenas

Abstract

This article analyses some Solonian rules respecting the status of women, particularly the laws on adultery (moicheia), on forced prostitution of free women and on voluntary prostitution. It also discusses the (false) tradition according to which Solon took the initiative of establishing official brothels in Athens.
