Title: | Análise de Perfil Biológico das Séries Osteológicas das Necrópoles de Casal de S. Brás e Serra de Carnaxide | Authors: | Lopes, Rodrigo Jorge Ferreira da Silva | Orientador: | Cunha, Eugénia | Keywords: | Tafonomia; Preservação óssea; Necrópoles; Patologia oral; Paleopatologia | Issue Date: | 2013 | Citation: | Lopes., Rodrigo Jorge Ferreira da Silva - Análise de perfil biológico das séries osteológicas das necrópoles de Casal de S. brás e Serra de Carnaxide. Coimbra, [s.n.], 2013.
The aim of the present work of Dissertation in Human Biology and Evolution is the study of two osteological series from the Necropolis of Casal de S. Brás and Serra de Carnaxide wich were primarily studied by Duarte (2000) and Granja (2010). This study was requested to the DCV by the Câmara Municipal da Amadora via Museu Municipal de Arqueologia da Amadora. This study focused on biological profile parameters like sex, age at death estimation, stature, ancestry and whenever possible pathology indicators. This study verified that the two necropolis weren’t exclusive to some populacional groups. This was verified because of the inhumations present in the necropolis which were comprised of people of different genders and ages. As requested, this study tried to go further than the preliminary studies by studying stature and ancestry. Unfortunately the later could only be studied in only one individual. The taphonomic alterations made it difficult to diagnose some of the parameters proposed by this study. During the study of the nine sepultures of Casal de S. Brás it was verified that there were 7 adults, 4 of them males, 1 female and 2 undetermined. There were 4 sub-adults scoring a total of 11 individuals. In the Necropolis of Serra de Carnaxide in 7 graves there were inhumated 14 individuals. From those 6 were sub-adults and the remaining 8 adults. These 8 adults were comprised of 4 males, 3 females and 1 undetermined sex. It was studied a sub-adult from the villa romana of Quinta da Bolacha. In the scope of this study 26 individuals were studied from two necropoli and a roman villa. |
