"Ingratos" e "Desumanos": Acidentes Laborais em Coimbra (1930-1935)

Abstract

Esta dissertação tem como objetivo analisar os processos do Tribunal de Trabalho de Coimbra, relativos ao período de 1930-1935, e simultaneamente, refletir sobre o mercado de trabalho e conhecer melhor as condições em que os sinistrados viviam e trabalhavam. Analisa-se igualmente a génese dos Tribunais de Trabalho, enquadrando-os no desenvolvimento económico, político e social nacional. Procede-se, finalmente, ao esboço sociológico dos sinistrados, à análise das causas dos acidentes, aos conflitos com os empregadores e companhias de seguro, salientando o papel do tribunal como mediador.

This dissertation aims to analyze the processes of the Labor Court of Coimbra, for the period 1930-1935, and at the same time, reflect on the labor market and better understand the conditions under which the victims lived and worked. It also examines the genesis of the Labor Courts, framing them in the national economic, political and social development. Proceeds, finally, to the sociological draft of the victims, to analyze the causes of accidents, conflicts with employers and insurance companies, emphasizing the role of the court as a mediator.
