The role of mindfulness, the four immeasurables and self-compassion in well being and in psychopathological symtpons In the last few years it has arisen, amongst the psychological community, a significant interest for the positive component of people’s subjective experiences. The purpose of the present investigation is to explore the relationship between the presence of certain positive approaches (mindfulness, self-compassion and the four immeasurables) in people’s lives, and the perceptions, and evaluations that they do in terms of their emotional, psychological and social functioning (emotional, psychological and social well-being) At the same time we, also, pretend to study the influence of these positive components, as well as the influence of well-being, in symptons of depression, anxiety and stress. This study comes from a sample of 407 participants of the student population. In on hand the obtained results suggest that the presence of positive componentes like mindfulness, self-compassion and the four immeasurables is associated, positively, with well-being. On the other hand, it was discovered that, the presence of these positive attitudes, as well as the presence of well-being, appear to be inversely associated to the presence of depression, anxiety and stress symptons. |
