dc.description.abstractEste estudo teve por objectivo explorar a percepção que os adolescentes possuem acerca do seu envolvimento em actividades extracurriculares (AEC). Em particular, procurou-se i) caracterizar as condições subjacentes a esse envolvimento, ii) identificar o grau de autonomia e a motivação subjacente à escolha das actividades extracurriculares que praticam; iii) identificar a percepção que possuem acerca do prazer e dos benefícios que retiram do seu envolvimento em actividades extracurriculares e ainda iv) identificar a sua percepção relativamente ao seu grau de empenho e aos sentimentos a ela associados. A amostra era constituída por 194 adolescentes ( 54,64% de raparigas e 45,36% de rapazes), entre os 12 e os 19 anos de idade, estudantes do 3º ciclo do ensino básico e do ensino secundário. Foi construído para o efeito um questionário, com recurso à técnica de focus group. Os resultados revelaram que da amostra total apenas 103 adolescentes estão envolvidos em actividades extra-curriculares. Revelaram também que: i) as actividades mais praticadas são o desporto e a música; ii) a prática das AEC acontece maioritariamente fora da escola; iii) a escolha é feita, pelo adolescente, ainda que pais e amigos possam exercer alguma influência; iv) os motivos têm sobretudo a ver com a valorização de si próprios; e v) os adolescentes reconhecem neste envolvimento um conjunto variado e muito positivo de benefícios, mostrando-se bastante empenhados e gratificados no desempenho das suas actividades extracurriculares. De um modo geral, a forma como os adolescentes percepcionam o seu envolvimento nas actividades extracurriculares é reforçadora do investimento que se procura fazer na sua divulgação e implementação.por
dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to explore the perception that adolescents have about their involvement in extracurricular activities (ECA). In particular, it was i) to characterize the condition of that engagement, ii) identify the degree of autonomy and motivation behind the choice of extracurricular activities that practice and iii) identify the perception they have about pleasure and the benefits they derive from their involvement in extracurricular activities and even iv) identify their perceptions regarding the level of commitment and feelings with it. The sample consisted of 194 adolescents (54,64% to 45,36% of girls and boys), between 12 and 19 years old, students in the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education. It was built for this purpose a questionnaire, using the technique of focus group. The results revealed that the total sample only 103 youth are involved in extracurricular activities. They also revealed that: i) the most popular activities are sport and music, ii) the practice of AEC happens mostly outside of school, iii) the choice is made at teenager, even thought parents and friends might have some influences, iv) motives have more to do with the enhancement of themselves and v) teens recognise this involvement and a variety of very positive benefits, proving to be very focused and rewarded the performance of their extracurricular activities. In general, how adolescents perceive their involvement in extracurricular activities is reinforcing the investment youth make in looking for its dissemination and implementation.por
