The present study aims to identify the social representations of conjugal violence in a Psychology Masters Degree sample of students attending to first and fifth years. Was administered a research protocol that included the Conjugal Violence Questionnaire – Stories (QRVC-HIS), the Scale of Beliefs about Conjugal Violence (ECVC) and Conjugal Violence – Causes, factors of maintenance and resolution (QVC-CMR). The results reveal that even though the global legitimating levels are low, first year students reveal a more tolerant attitude towards conjugal violence. Analyzing the activation factors, maintenance and resolution, that students believe to be part of violent behavior dynamics; we verified that the principal cause is attributed to the aggressor and cultural/social factors, whilst the abuse maintenance is thinking as victims’ responsibility. As resolution factors, were stressed the awareness/education of young people at schools, the deletion and protection of both, victim and children. |
