Violência conjugal: representações sociais e atribuições numa amostra de estudantes de psicologia do mestrado integrado

Abstract

O presente estudo teve como objectivo principal identificar as representações sociais da violência conjugal, numa amostra de estudantes de Mestrado Integrado em Psicologia, a frequentar o primeiro e quinto anos. Foi administrado um protocolo de investigação que incluía o Questionário de Violência Conjugal – Histórias (QRVC-HIS); a Escala de Crenças sobre a Violência Conjugal (ECVC) e o Questionário de Violência Conjugal – Causas, Manutenção e Resolução (QVC-CMR). Os resultados revelam que, embora os níveis globais de legitimação sejam baixos, os estudantes do primeiro ano demonstram atitudes mais tolerantes face à violência na conjugalidade. Na análise dos factores de activação, manutenção e resolução que os estudantes crêem fazer parte da dinâmica dos comportamentos violentos, verificou-se que as causas são atribuídas ao agressor e a factores sociais e culturais, enquanto a manutenção dos abusos é tida como responsabilidade da vítima. Como factores de resolução, ressaltaram a sensibilização/educação dos jovens nas escolas, a denúncia e a protecção da vítima e dos filhos.

The present study aims to identify the social representations of conjugal violence in a Psychology Masters Degree sample of students attending to first and fifth years. Was administered a research protocol that included the Conjugal Violence Questionnaire – Stories (QRVC-HIS), the Scale of Beliefs about Conjugal Violence (ECVC) and Conjugal Violence – Causes, factors of maintenance and resolution (QVC-CMR). The results reveal that even though the global legitimating levels are low, first year students reveal a more tolerant attitude towards conjugal violence. Analyzing the activation factors, maintenance and resolution, that students believe to be part of violent behavior dynamics; we verified that the principal cause is attributed to the aggressor and cultural/social factors, whilst the abuse maintenance is thinking as victims’ responsibility. As resolution factors, were stressed the awareness/education of young people at schools, the deletion and protection of both, victim and children.
