Invisibilidade na paisagem pictórica contemporânea

Abstract

A invisibilidade na paisagem pictórica contemporânea é uma reflexão acerca daquilo que sendo ausente tem presença, daquilo que, apesar de presentificado não é visível. É uma análise acerca das possibilidades do tema do invisível na paisagem, através do estudo da produção artística contemporânea e da prática autoral, assumindo o caso do desenho e da pintura. Esta investigação, realizada em contexto artístico, é enquadrada por horizontes teóricos que se procuram na história, nos estudos artísticos, e particularmente na filosofia. Neste último contexto, o ponto de partida será a análise da experiência perceptiva tal como é explicitada pelos artistas: experiência de um jogo de ocultação e desvelamento que explora um modo fundamental de relação com a paisagem. Merleau-Ponty afirmava que Cézanne deixava a paisagem aparecer significando esta afirmação que a atitude de acolher é a condição essencial de ver. Desde a modernidade acreditava-se que ver era iluminar (partindo-se do espírito), com a tese revolucionária de Merleau-Ponty, que afirma que para ver não é preciso “iluminar”, é preciso primeiro deixar as coisas aparecer, demonstra-se que com os pintores se aprende o Ser humano. Sob esta perspectiva, investigamos a obra de artistas contemporâneos procurando auscultar a actualidade e a universalidade da tese do filósofo. A hipótese em estudo será, a partir destes fundamentos, investigar uma pintura da invisibilidade contendo uma ideia de fluxo mostrando-a na obra autoral, Água sobre água, promovendo a elaboração de novas leituras de um mundo realmente vivido, presentificadas pictoricamente, onde se mostra uma possibilidade de ausência de dicotomias do mundo primordial.

Invisibility in the contemporary pictorial landscape is a reflection on what is absent but has presence, on what, despite being present, is not visible. It is an analysis of the possibilities of the theme of the invisible in the landscape, through the study of contemporary artistic production and authorial practice, assuming the case of drawing and painting. This research, carried out in an artistic context, is framed by theoretical horizons that are sought in history, in artistic studies, and particularly in philosophy. In this last context, the starting point will be the analysis of the perceptive experience as explained by the artists: experience of a game of concealment and unveiling that explores a fundamental way of relating to the landscape. Merleau-Ponty stated that Cézanne let the landscape appear, meaning this statement that the attitude of welcoming is the essential condition of seeing. Since modernity, it was believed that to see was to illuminate (starting from the spirit), with the revolutionary thesis of Merleau-Ponty, which states that in order to see it is not necessary to “illuminate”, it is first necessary to let things appear, it is demonstrated that with the painters one learns the Human Being. From this perspective, we investigate the work of contemporary artists, trying to listen to the actuality and universality of the philosopher's thesis. Our hypothesis will be, from these foundations, to investigate a painting of invisibility containing an idea of flow showing it in the authorial work, Água sobre água, promoting the elaboration of new readings of a world really lived, pictorially presented, where it is shown a possibility of absence of dichotomies of the primordial world.
