Ambientes de aprendizagem motivacionais através da diversidade de recursos e de estratégias pedagógicas na aula de História

Abstract

Cada vez mais encontramos alunos desmotivados e desinteressados na aprendizagem da História, mas, por outro lado, verificamos a existência de diversos filmes, séries, livros e videojogos com conteúdo histórico que lhes interessam. Deste modo, muitos dos alunos que encontramos nas salas de aula consomem estes produtos e acabam por criar conceções sobre a História através destes. Assim, o desafio que se coloca no presente contexto educativo é explorar a potencialidade destes recursos para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem da História, criando ambientes de aprendizagem motivacionais através da sua utilização, uma vez que estes se aproximam do quotidiano dos alunos e se relacionam com os seus interesses. Neste sentido, é importante conhecer os interesses pessoais dos alunos, procurando mobilizá-los para fomentar a sua motivação na aprendizagem da História, uma vez que ao trabalhar os interesses dos alunos na sala de aula podemos estimular a sua atenção e concentração e podemos movê-los para a aprendizagem, ou seja, motivá-los na realização de tarefas, contribuindo para o seu sucesso académico. Assim, o presente trabalho trata-se de um estudo de caso com alunos do 7.º ano do 3.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, realizado no âmbito da iniciação à prática docente em História, e teve como principais objetivos, por um lado, perceber de que forma os interesses pessoais dos alunos podem ser utilizados na aula de História e, por outro, analisar se a realização de atividades e a utilização de recursos que despertam interesse aos alunos contribui para a sua aprendizagem.Efetivamente, como demonstraremos ao longo deste estudo, os dados analisados permitiram concluir que é possível motivar os alunos para a aprendizagem da História através da realização de atividades onde se abordam temas e se utilizam recursos que interessam intrinsecamente aos alunos.

More and more, we find students unmotivated and disinterested in learning history. However, on the other hand, we observe the existence of various movies, series, books, and video games with historical content that interests them. In this way, many of the students we encounter in the classrooms consume these products and form conceptions about history through them. Therefore, the challenge in the present educational context is to explore the potential of these resources for the teaching and learning of history, creating motivational learning environments through their use, as they align with students' daily lives and relate to their interests. In this sense, it is important to understand students' personal interests, seeking to mobilise them to enhance their motivation in learning history, as working with student’s interests in the classroom can stimulate their attention and concentration and lead them toward learning, in other words, motivate them to complete tasks, contributing to their academic success.Thus, the present work is a case study with 7th-grade students in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education conducted as part of the initiation to teaching practice in history. Its main objectives were, on the one hand, to understand how students’ personal interests can be used in the history class and, on the other hand, to analyse if conducting activities and using resources that pique students' interest contributes to their learning. As we will demonstrate throughout this study, the analysed data allowed us to conclude that it is possible to motivate students to learn history through activities that address topics and use resources that inherently interest the students.
