Reconversão da Fábrica Triunfo De espaço industrial a campus criativo

Abstract

Esta dissertação, insere-se no Atelier de Projeto B – 4o e 5 o anos do Mestrado Integrado em Ar- quitetura do DARQ/FCTUC – o qual apresentou, entre 2021 e 2023, o tema “Fast! Slow! Far! Close! - As múltiplas cidades geradas pela nova estação ferroviária de Coimbra”. O objetivo principal deste atelier passou pela procura de uma nova centralidade para a cidade de Coimbra gerada pela introdução da Linha de Alta Velocidade (LAV) no sistema ferroviário nacional. Desta forma, foi-nos proposto o desenvolvimento de uma estação ferroviária, no território de- limitado pela atual estação de Coimbra B e a Pedrulha, a Norte, assim como a reflexão sobre o seu impacto na envolvente urbana.Como trabalho de grupo, consideramos importante repensar e reintegrar Coimbra no território nacional e torná-la mais relevante do ponto de vista da mobilidade e desenvolvimento urbano. Deste modo, consideramos que, como ponto de partida, devem estar os meios de ligação ao resto do país. Surge, então, a possibilidade de introdução da Linha de Alta Velocidade (LAV) na cidade e, por consequência, surge também o exercício que nos foi proposto – a implementação da nova estação ferroviária de Coimbra, integrando linhas preparadas para receber o comboio de alta velocidade.Articulados com a nova estação – localizada a norte da atual Coimbra B, na área da Pedrulha – surgem outros programas: um pavilhão multiusos; conjuntos residenciais, em regime de co-hou- sing, articulado com espaços de co-working; e ainda uma ecovillage, cuja implantação aproveita e redesenha o atual sistema de faixas agrícolas e de canais de irrigação.Incluem-se ainda, na estratégia apresentada em grupo, projetos de reabilitação ou reconversão de alguns edifícios de caráter industrial, hoje encerrados ou obsoletos, como o Centro Tecno- lógico da Cerâmica e do Vidro (antiga Fábrica Lufapo) e a antiga Fábrica Triunfo das Rações.Nesta dissertação, e como trabalho individual, estuda-se a reconversão funcional do edifício da antiga Fábrica Triunfo Rações. A reabilitação deste edifício vai ao encontro de um dos princi- pais objetivos deste Atelier de Projeto - a procura de uma nova centralidade para a cidade de Coimbra, atraindo novos habitantes, numa perspectiva intersocial e intergeracional.A estrutura da Fábrica Triunfo Rações é assim transformada num Campus Universitário Cria- tivo destinado a cursos de 2o e 3o Ciclos do Departamento de Arquitetura da UC, por comple- mento à oferta presente na Alta Universitária. Esta apropriação de um antigo edifício industrial permite a integração de espaços para salas, gabinetes e serviços de apoio, bem como, para residências de estudantes, e espaços de atelier para trabalho coletivo.

This dissertation is part of the Design Studio B - 4th and 5th years of the Integrated Master in Architecture at DARQ/FCTUC, presented between 2021 and 2023, with the theme “Fast! Slow! Far! Close! - The multiple cities generated Coimbra’s new railway station”. The main objective of this workshop was the search for a new centrality for the city of Coimbra as a result of the introduction of the High Speed Line in the national rail system. Thus, it was proposed to develop a railway station in the territory delimited by the current Coimbra B station and Pedru- lha to the north, as well as reflect on its impact on the urban surroundings.As a group, we consider it important to rethink and reintegrate Coimbra into the national terri- tory and make it more relevant from the point of view of mobility and urban development. As a starting point, we must consider the means of connecting Coimbra to the rest of the country. Then, the possibility of introducing the High Speed Line in the city arises, and consequently, the exercise that was proposed to us also arises: the implementation of the new Coimbra railway station, integrating lines prepared to receive the high-speed train.Associated with the new station, located north of the current Coimbra B in the Pedrulha area, are other projects: a multipurpose pavilion; residential complexes in a co-housing coumpound, articulated with co-working spaces; and even an “eco-village”, whose implementation takes ad- vantage of and redesigns the current system of agricultural strips and irrigation canals.Also included in the strategy presented by the group are projects for the rehabilitation or recon- version of some industrial buildings that are now closed or obsolete, such as the Ceramics and Glass Technological Center (formerly Fábrica Lufapo) and the former Triunfo Rações Factory.In this dissertation and as an individual work, we study the functional reconversion of the buil- ding of the former Triunfo Rações Factory. The rehabilitation of this building meets one of the main objectives of this Design Studio - the search for a new centrality for the city of Coimbra, attracting new inhabitants from an inter-social and inter-generational perspective.The structure of the Triunfo Rações Factory is thus transformed into a Creative University Campus for courses in the 2nd and 3rd Cycles of the Department of Architecture of the UC, as a complement to the current offering at Alta Universitária. This appropriation of an old in- dustrial building allows the integration of spaces for classrooms, offices and support services, as well as student residences and studio spaces for collective work.
