"O pensamento cigano face à escola".

Abstract

A presente dissertação foi realizada no âmbito da conclusão do Mestrado em Ciências da Educação, integrado na Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra. O local de estágio selecionado foi a Câmara Municipal de Pombal, com especial foco na Unidade de Projetos Educativos, na Equipa Multidisciplinar de Juventude e no projeto 3ESC.E8G – Educação, Saúde e Cidadania, entre os meses de setembro de 2022 e maio de 2023.Como foco principal do meu estágio curricular, e deste relatório, saliento o meu projeto de investigação, realizado com a comunidade cigana e que contou com os seguintes objetivos: conhecer a realidade da comunidade cigana nas escolas portuguesas; caracterizar o pensamento da comunidade cigana relativamente à escola; caracterizar o sucesso/insucesso académico dos alunos de etnia cigana face aos restantes alunos; identificar as dificuldades do aluno de comunidade cigana na sala de aula; compreender os problemas que o aluno de comunidade cigana pode representar na sala de aula; interpretar o desempenho do facilitador, e por fim, caracterizar a relação encarregado de educação e/ou pais – escola.Ao longo da dissertação apresentaremos ainda um tópico das Atividades de Resposta às Necessidades da Instituição. Estas foram desenvolvidas no âmbito de diversos programas e/ou projetos educativos, tais como Jovem Autarca, 3.ESC-E8G – Educação, Saúde e Cidadania, Ocupação de Tempos Livres Jovem – Pombal (OTL), Semana da Juventude, Programa Municipal de Potenciação do Sucesso Escolar (PMPSE), entre outros.

This dissertation was carried out as part of the completion of the Master's Degree in Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra. The internship site selected was the Municipality of Pombal, with special focus on the Educational Projects Unit, the Multidisciplinary Youth Team and the project 3ESC.E8G - Education, Health and Citizenship, between the months of September 2022 and May 2023.As the main focus of my curricular internship, and of this report, I highlight my research project, carried out with the Roma community and which had the following objectives: to know the reality of the gypsy community in Portuguese schools; to characterize the gypsy community's thoughts about school; to characterize the academic success/underachievement of gypsy students compared to other students; to identify the difficulties of the gypsy student in the classroom; to understand the problems that the student from the gypsy community may represent in the classroom; to interpret the facilitator's performance, and finally, to characterize the relationship between guardian and/or parents - school.Throughout the dissertation we will also present a topic of Activities in Response to the Needs of the Institution. These were developed under various programs and/or educational projects, such as Jovem Autarca, 3.ESC-E8G - Education, Health and Citizenship, Occupation of Young Free Time - Pombal (OTL), Youth Week, Municipal Program for Potentiating School Success (PMPSE), among others.
