O Objeto Sonoro Como Fator Para a Interpretação do Desenho Infantil Pré-Figurativo: Proposta de Investigação e Introdução da Grelha de Análise de Traços

Abstract

Children’s drawings has been present as a study matter all through the past century, however, those who are regarded as the founding and classic schools and the majority of literature about the matter often minorize the role that pre-figurative drawings, or scribbles, have, either being because it is difficult to find projective value when adults look at them, or because it doesn´t give direct data about the cognitive development of children. The aim of the present work is to suggest a new perspective on the role of the “sound object” as a relevant factor to evaluate children’s drawings during the scribbling stage, as well as presenting two investigations, based on the works of Quaglia and Longobardi on the characteristics of the pre-figurative drawings. Our approach is markedly multidisciplinary, borrowing the concept of “Sound Object” coined by Suzanne Maielo, to define the sound and kinaesthetic component that could, eventually influence the child’s drawing’s expressiveness, in the earlier phases. Likewise, we try to introduce a preliminary version of the Trace and Line Evaluation Grid, an instrument that was conceived specifically to fulfil the intents of the present work, and that will serve the purpose of systematizing the intrinsic qualities of children’s drawings, both as a final product and as the processes involved in the creation of these drawings. Although the exceptional conditions placed by the coronavirus threat, did not make the execution of, at least one of the intended investigations possible, the work that follows serves as a testimony of the intents of the latter and of the fruits that these intents brought. The work here presented will introduce the concepts behind the theory it intends to hypothesize, as well as the format that the planned investigations would take, working on par with “Mil Pássaros” an artistic project that should have happened in June of 2020. Additionally it will serve to introduce the categories that define the Trace and Line Evaluation Grid, and to experimentally utilize it in 4 drawings, gathered in a prototype project of what the original investigation was, done with a smaller sample than desired and without the control of the conditions under which the drawings were made.

O desenho infantil tem sido um tema de estudo frequente ao longo deste último século, no entanto, as escolas clássicas da psicologia e a literatura maioritária da área sempre tenderam a menosprezar o papel do desenho pré-figurativo (leia-se o desenho precoce onde não existe uma tentativa visível de representar um objeto), seja por não ter valor projetivo como reconhecível para os adultos, ou por não oferecer dados diretos sobre o desenvolvimento cognitivo da criança. O objetivo do presente trabalho é o de sugerir uma perspetiva nova sobre o papel do objeto sonoro na interpretação do desenho pré-figurativo, bem como o de propor duas investigações baseadas nas conceções de Quaglia e Longobardi do que é esta fase do desenho. A abordagem tomada na edificação destas propostas é marcadamente multidisciplinar, pedindo emprestado o conceito de “Objeto Sonoro” ao trabalho de Suzanne Maielo, para definir a componente sonora e cinestésica que eventualmente poderá influenciar a expressividade do desenho precoce. Pretendemos, também, introduzir a Grelha de Avaliação de Traços, instrumento concebido especificamente para o efeito, e que servirá para sistematizar as qualidades internas do desenho infantil, bem como algumas das que envolvem o processo de o produzir. Apesar de as condições excecionais, provocadas pelos confinamentos no contexto da pandemia de Covid-19, não terem permitido a execução prática e final de, pelo menos, uma das investigações sugeridas, este trabalho fica como o testemunho das tentativas de o fazer acontecer, bem como do contributo que a preparação dessas investigações possa vir a dar. O presente trabalho apresentará os conceitos que definem a teoria que pretende hipotetizar, bem como os contornos das investigações que foram planeadas, às costas do projeto artístico “Mil Pássaros”, que deveria ter ocorrido em Junho de 2020. Adicionalmente, tratará de introduzir as categorias que definem a Grelha de Avaliação de Traços e de aplicá-la a 4 desenhos recolhidos num protótipo do que era o projeto inicial, feito a uma escala muito mais pequena e sem o controlo científico das condições de elaboração dos desenhos.
