O focus group dos pais procurava abordar 11 (onze) questões, enquanto o focus group realizado com as crianças envolvia 12 (doze) questões. As respostas obtidas foram compiladas em tabelas e analisadas comparando as informações obtidas com a literatura existente sobre o tema.Resultados: Os pais demonstraram ter perceção relativamente à influência dos seus filhos sobre si e aos mecanismos e estratégias que aplicam. Da sua parte as crianças revelaram explorar a sua influência junto dos seus pais, tendo demonstrado uma capacidade de incorporar aprendizagens retiradas de pedidos anteriores nas suas novas abordagens.Valor prático: Compreender a forma como as crianças exploram a sua influência junto dos seus pais pode ajudar os marketers a desenvolver estratégias que envolvam as crianças como um dos elementos que ajuda a reforçar/amplificar determinadas mensagens junto dos paisValor prático: Compreender a forma como as crianças exploram a sua influência junto dos seus pais pode ajudar os marketers a desenvolver estratégias que envolvam as crianças como um dos elementos que ajuda a reforçar/amplificar determinadas mensagens junto dos pais Objectives: The objectives of this work consist are: to assess the parents level of perception regarding the influence exerted by their children over them; identify the mechanisms applied by parents in order to process the requests made by their children; evaluate the children perception regarding the level of influence exerted over their parents; identify some of the mechanisms and strategies that the children deploy in order to achieve the fulfillment of their requests.Methodology: Two distinct focus groups were conducted (one with parents and another one with their respective children). The focus group conducted with the parents focused on 11 (eleven) questions, as for the focus group with children sought to answer 12 (twelve) questions. The obtained answers were later compiled into tables and compared with the available literature regarding the subject.Results: Parents seemed to have a good perception regarding the influence their children exert on them and regarding the mechanisms they deploy.
