Da Utopia à Realidade. O "Outdoor Learning" como uma proposta diferenciadora na Educação e Formação de Adultos.

Abstract

A constituição da República Portuguesa determinou, em 1976, no artigo 73.º, que a educação é um direito de todos, sendo que, com vista a fomentar a igualdade de oportunidades, o desenvolvimento pessoal e social dos cidadãos e o espírito de solidariedade e de responsabilidade, a democratização da educação cabe ao estado.Não obstante os avanços e os recuos que têm pautado o domínio da Educação e Formação de Adultos em Portugal, a facilitação deste direito, no âmbito das políticas públicas de educação e formação de adultos, tem obedecido a lógicas mercantilistas e instrumentais que relegam para segundo plano o desenvolvimento integral da pessoa.Acresce que o direito à educação constitui, igualmente, um direito de cidadania, que deve enaltecer a participação social e a responsabilidade individual e coletiva, propiciando, desta forma, a emergência de agentes sociais, capazes de transformar o meio no qual estes se inserem.Neste sentido, a adoção de metodologias diversificadas, a par com a promoção e a implementação de atividades educativas em diferentes espaços de vida, por via do paradigma "outdoor learning", para além de suscitar uma maior aproximação [do público adulto] ao património natural e cultural das suas cidades, estimula o desenvolvimento de uma dimensão mais humanista e emancipatória da educação e formação de adultos.A análise do questionário “Caracterização| Educação e Formação de Adultos| Município de Coimbra”, que teve como objetivo caracterizar a oferta educativa formal de educação de adultos no município de Coimbra revela o empenho e o compromisso das entidades respondentes em colaborarem com o poder local e em otimizarem a oferta formativa no município, tendo em conta as necessidades diagnosticadas. Quanto aos resultados obtidos na sequência da atividade educativa implementada junto de um grupo de formandos no Parque Verde do Mondego traduzem a sua satisfação com a sessão ao ar livre e a sua motivação em exercerem a sua responsabilidade pessoal e social, seja a nível individual e/ou coletivo.

The constitution of the Portuguese Republic determined in 1976, in article 73, that education is a right for all, and in order to promoting equal opportunities, the personal and social development of citizens and the spirit of solidarity and responsibility, the democratization of education rests with the state.Despite the advances and setbacks that have guided the field of Adult Education and Training in Portugal, the facilitation of this right, within the scope of public policies for adult education and training, has obeyed mercantilist and instrumental logics that relegate to the background the integral development of the person.Furthermore, the right to education is also a right of citizenship, which should enhance social participation and individual and collective responsibility, thus providing for the emergence of social agents capable of transforming the environment in which they operate.In this sense, the adoption of diversified methodologies, along with the promotion and implementation of educational activities in different spaces of life, through the outdoor learning paradigm, in addition to bringing about a closer approximation [of the adult audience] to the natural and cultural heritage of its cities, stimulates the development of a more humanist and emancipatory dimension of adult education and training.The analysis of the questionnaire “Characterization| Adult Education and Training| Municipality of Coimbra", which aimed to characterize the formal educational offer of adult education in the municipality of Coimbra, reveals the commitment of the respondent entities to collaborate with local authorities and to optimize the training offer in the municipality, taking into account diagnosed needs. As for the results obtained regarding to the educational activity implemented with a group of trainees at Parque Verde do Mondego, they reflect their satisfaction with the outdoor session and their motivation to exercise their personal and social responsibility, either individually and/ or collective.
