Abstract

O segmento de TSBE (Turismo de Saúde e Bem-Estar) tem vindo a sofrer constantes metamorfoses, sendo atualmente uma das principais opções turísticas a nível mundial. As tendências e inovações do TSBE buscam cumprir a máxima qualidade e todos os requisitos necessários para a obtenção da plena satisfação do mercado turístico internacional, dado que os níveis de exigência dos mercados emissores têm vindo a aumentar substancialmente. A Ilha da Madeira, popularmente conhecida como «Pérola do Atlântico» é um verdadeiro paraíso tropical, por deter um conjunto variado de recursos naturais inigualáveis. Neste pequeno Jardim do Éden é possível sentir a perfeita harmonia entre o Homem e a natureza, onde as cores vivas da fauna e flora se fundem com os aromas inconfundíveis do Atlântico. A RAM (Região Autónoma da Madeira) é perspetivada por muitos como um santuário, ou até mesmo como o “cantinho do céu”, no qual é possível alcançar o puro equilíbrio entre corpo, mente e alma.O Arquipélago da Madeira desde a sua colonização que veio representar um destino de saúde de qualidade ímpar, pelas propriedades terapêuticas do clima temperado, pelas águas mineromedicinais do Atlântico, e pela areia carbonatada biogénica do Porto Santo, tradicionalmente apelidado de «Ilha Dourada». O relatório final de estágio expõe uma análise detalhada sobre o impacto direto da vertente do wellness e sobre o impacto indireto da vertente espiritual no estudo de caso do Laurea Spa do Hotel Savoy Palace, localizado no Funchal. O Laurea Spa é um oásis de sensações e conexões entre corpo, mente e alma. Inspirado na floresta Laurissilva, apresenta a combinação ideal entre os elementos endémicos da floresta subtropical e as essências relaxantes, estimulantes e energizantes da Aromatherapy Associates. O perfil do turista, as suas motivações, necessidades e feedback, bem como a qualidade dos produtos, serviços equipamentos e infraestruturas do resort cosmopolita, são alguns aspetos fulcrais para a aquisição de dados informativos, obtidos através do questionário às colaboradoras do Laurea Spa. Recorreu-se à análise de benchmarking e a três entrevistas para equiparar o Laurea Spa aos estudos de caso Ashoka Spa, Palheiro Spa, Six Senses Spa e Akasha Spa.

The HWT (Health and Wellness Tourism) segment has been undergoing constant metamorphosis and is currently one of the main tourism options worldwide. The trends and innovations in HWT seek to meet the highest quality and all the necessary requirements to obtain the full satisfaction of the international tourism market, given that the levels of demand of the issuing markets have been increasing substantially. The Madeira Island, popularly known as the «Pearl of the Atlantic» is a true tropical paradise, as it boasts a wide range of unparalleled natural resources. In this small Garden of Eden, it is possible to feel the perfect harmony between man and nature, where the vivid colors of the fauna and flora merge with the unmistakable aromas of the Atlantic. The ARM (Autonomous Region of Madeira) is seen by many as a sanctuary, or even a “corner of heaven”, where it is possible to achieve the pure balance between body, mind and soul. The Archipelago of Madeira, since its colonization, has come to represent a health destination of unparalleled quality, for the therapeutic properties of the temperate climate, for the mineromedicinal waters of the Atlantic, and for the biogenic carbonate sand of Porto Santo, traditionally nicknamed as «Golden Island». The final report for the master's degree presents a detailed analysis of the direct impact of the wellness strand and the indirect impact of the spiritual strand in the case study of the Laurea Spa of the Savoy Palace Hotel, located in Funchal. The Laurea Spa is an oasis of sensations and connections between body, mind and soul. Inspired by the Laurissilva forest, it presents the ideal combination between the endemic elements of the subtropical forest with the relaxing, stimulating and energizing essences of Aromatherapy Associates. The tourist profile, their motivations, needs and feedback, as well as the quality of the cosmopolitan resort's products, services, equipment and infrastructures, are some of the core aspects for the acquisition of informational data, obtained through the questionnaire to the Laurea Spa employees. Benchmarking analysis and three interviews were used to compare Laurea Spa with the case studies Ashoka Spa, Palheiro Spa, Six Senses Spa and Akasha Spa.
