Objeto expositivo evocativo de uma performance de Carlos Paredes

Abstract

Throughout human history, whether in different cultures and indifferent eras, the creation of objects honoring the memory of the departed has been a constant. It is important to recognize that the design of these artifacts is based, generally, on a recognition of the virtues of the person in question by the society inserted in it. There may be problems in this valuation, so an analysis of the individual should not be left out, so that we can portray more faithfully who he was, but also not neglecting the impact that this may have on the social space to which he will be subjected.In this context, we propose the creation of an evocative object by the artist Carlos Paredes. Since this is a thesis related to the Design and Multimedia course, the focus is on the processes of creation of the artifact and the relationship that the spectator will have with the object. Technological advances in the different areas of focus of this thesis have allowed, especially in the last two decades, to innovate the quality of performances. In the specific case of the use of holographic projections using animation techniques, there has been an increase in this type of objects, namely in the areas of marketing and artistic performances.This project comes from a previous collection of information about Carlos Paredes. This contains biographical data and mostly excerpts or complete performances of the artist recorded throughout his life. This research covers videos taken from the RTP archive and the Youtube website, but also from news taken from the TSF radio station website. This initial work serves as a basis for an intention to create an evocative object of the artist, given its importance for the city of Coimbra.

Ao longo da história do ser humano, seja em diferentes culturas e em diferentes eras, a criação de objetos honrando a memória dos que partiram tem sido uma constante. É importante reconhecer que a conceção destes artefactos tem por base, geralmente, um reconhecimento das virtudes da pessoa em questão pela sociedade nela inserida. Podem existir problemas nesta valorização, pelo que não deve ser deixada de lado uma análise do indivíduo, de forma a podermos retratar com maior fidelidade quem era, mas também não descuidando o impacto que este poderá ter no espaço social que será submetido.Neste contexto propõe-se a criação de um objeto evocativo do artista Carlos Paredes. Tratando-se de uma tese referente ao curso de Design e Multimédia, o foco prende-se com os processos de criação do artefato e com a relação que o espectador terá com o objeto. Os avanços tecnológicos nas diferentes áreas de foco desta tese permitiram, principalmente nas últimas duas décadas, inovar a qualidade das performances. No caso específico da utilização de projeções holográficas recorrendo a técnicas de animação, tem vindo a existir um aumento deste tipo de objetos, nomeadamente nas áreas do marketing e atuações artísticas.Este projeto advém de uma recolha anterior de informações sobre Carlos Paredes. Neste estão contidos dados biográficos e na sua maioria excertos ou atuações completas do artista gravados ao longo da sua vida. Esta pesquisa abrange vídeos retirados do arquivo da RTP e do website Youtube, mas também de notícias retiradas do website da estação de rádio TSF. Este trabalho inicial serve de forma a dar base a uma intenção de criar um objeto evocativo do artista, dada a sua importância para a cidade de Coimbra.
