A relevância da escrita e a oficialização do uso da língua portuguesa na documentação régia de Portugal no tempo de D. Dinis (1279-1325)

Abstract

O principal objetivo desse artigo consiste em promover uma reflexão acerca da relevância da oficialização da língua portuguesa na documentação régia da administração de D. Dinis, como uma das principais estratégias de fortalecimento do poder da coroa lusitana nesse período. Visto que Frei Francisco Brandão em Monarquia Lusitana, emite destaque à ação do rei de ordenar a tradução de diversas obras em outras línguas ao português e ao interesse dionisino de enriquecer a língua vulgar e seu uso em Portugal. Esse monarca assumiu o reino num período conturbado para a coroa portuguesa, visto que seu genitor havia descumprido alguns acordos com o poder eclesiástico em benefício da coroa e territorialidade lusitana. Deste modo lhe restara reestabelecer a paz e animosidade com o poder espiritual e tirar o reino do interdito papal, bem como inspirar confiabilidade e segurança à sociedade de seu tempo. O modo administrativo e diplomático dionisino o conduziu à criação de uma identidade que possibilitasse a unicidade entre os portugueses. Destarte, os fios das relações que se amarram e dão forma as ações governamentais de D. Dinis, abrem caminhos para evidenciarmos a existência de um processo de identificação nacional, constituído por meio da instituição do português como língua oficial dos registros da documentação régia, delimitação das fronteiras e busca efetiva da autonomia régia, nos âmbitos político e econômico.

The main objective of this article consists of promoting a reflection on the research of the officialization of the Portuguese language in the documentation of the D. Dinis administration legislation, as one of the main strategies for strengthening the power of the Portuguese crown in this period. Since Frei Francisco Brandão in Monarchy Lusitana, highlights the action of the king to order the translation of several works in other languages to portuguese and the dionisino interest in enriching the common language and its use in Portugal. This monarch took over in a troubled period for the Portuguese crown, since his parent had breached some agreements with ecclesiastical power for the benefit of the crown and Lusitanian territoriality. In this way, it remained for him to reestablish peace and animosity with spiritual power and to remove the kingdom from the papal interdict, as well as to inspire reliability and security to the society of his time. The Dionysian administrative and diplomatic approach led him to the creation of an identity that would allow for uniqueness among the Portuguese. Thus, the strands of relationships that are tied and shape government actions by D. Dinis, open the way for us to evidence the existence of a national identification process, constituted through the institution of Portuguese as the official language of the legislation records, delimitation of borders and effective search for royal autonomy, in the political and economic spheres.
