In this work the identification of the slope stability factors, as its main typologies and consequences, on the Catumbela’s urban area, was carried out. The main stages of the research were as follows: the bibliographical review and data collection, the field survey that allowed identifying the slope stability, the study of geological and geomorphology features as well as the establishment and use of a work sheet. This work sheet contains the parameters such as the height, length and dip slope’s, lithology and vegetation, state of activity, consequences and causes of the landslides. Consequently, a statistical analysis was carried out. The Schmidt’s hardness of the limestone and marls was defined in four of the eleven studied slopes. The Rockfall Hazard Rating System (RHRS) was used to evaluate the risk associated with landslides. The results obtained in the different study stages permitted the identification of the landslides typologies, their causes and consequences, as well the establishment of mitigation and prevention measures.
