Amor, caritas e dilectio : elementos para uma hermenêutica do amor no pensamento de Nicolau de Cusa

Abstract

A presente investigação procura evidenciar a existência de uma hermenêutica do amor no pensamento de Nicolau de Cusa. Para a consecução deste objectivo, analisa as ocorrências e os significados das palavras amor, caritas e dilectio nos textos cusanos e estabelece relações entre o amor e outros temas presentes na sua filosofia. Busca, ainda, explicitar a importância do amor no contexto da relação entre affectus e intellectus, bem como no cruzamento da unidade com a multiplicidade e no horizonte onde o finito deseja alcançar o infinito. Deixa como reflexão a possibilidade de se pensar uma ética do amor, que tem como rasto a categoria da coincidentia oppositorum e pode ser expressa, em última instância, numa espécie de (est)ética da existência.

This investigation seeks to emphasize the existence of a hermeneutics of love in the think of Nicholas of Cusa. To achieve this goal, it analyzes the occurrences and the meanings of the words amor, caritas and dilectio in the Cusan texts and establishes relationships among love and other themes present in his philosophy. Yet, it attempts to explain the importance of love in the context of the relationship between affectus and intellectus, as well as at the intersection of unity with the multiplicity and the horizon where the finite wants to reach the infinite. It leaves as a reflection the possibility to think of an ethics of love, which tracks as the category of coincidentia oppositorum and can be expressed, ultimately, as a kind of aesthetics (and/or ethics) of existence.
