This work is part of the theme of social networks and their contribution to relational marketing. Relationship marketing finds in social networks several, due to its characteristics, opportunities for the development of direct communication strategies with their customers, being a channel increasingly used by companies to approach their target audience. Thus, the main objective of this research is the analysis of the perception of those responsible for marketing on social networks and relational marketing of 6 companies from various sectors: health, marketing, information and communication technologies, biotechnology, pharmacy, and construction. This research is part of the case study model, according to the qualitative research paradigm, having carried out interviews with six marketing professionals in order to understand how social networks contribute to the relational marketing of their companies. The results show that social networks bring countless benefits to companies, especially when it comes to communication and interaction with their clients, being a much more direct, transparent, and adequate communication to the needs and expectations of the clients. The main networks used are Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and their use will depend a lot on the targets they intend to reach. The informality, ease of communication, the low price associated and the possibility of making the company known in real time appear as the main advantages. Regarding the difficulties, the results show that the devaluation of the social networks by the managers, little investment in advertising and the adequacy and definition of the content to be published, the selection of the most appropriate social network and the management of complaints are the most mentioned. Regarding the importance of social networks in relational marketing, it can be seen that social networks are just another vehicle for this type of marketing, being increasingly used by companies, however, many still do not have CRM systems installed. Regarding the limitations of this work, the main one is the number of interviews carried out, having been very complicated to arrange interviews. The data were obtained from a limited sample and a cross-section strategy from a wider sample would allow more reliable informations. Keywords: Digital Marketing; Relational Marketing; Social Networks; Companies.eng
