Emotions and stress play a very important role in the individual's psychological well-being and physical well-being. There are several epidemiological studies that suggest that it is essential to take into account the totality of the human being and the circumstances that surround him in order to have a broader understanding of the processes of sickness. This is only possible by conceiving the body-mind duality as a unique and indivisible reality. The present study intends to contribute in some way to this belief that, in the face of a disease called organic, we have to take into account not only the soma but also and mainly the individual's psyche. For this, using a sample of 299 subjects, in which 241 of them are female (80,6%) and 58 are male (19,4%), we avaluated the emotions (PANAS-VRP), difficulties in emotional regulation (DERS), depression, anxiety and stress (EADS-21), somatic symptoms (PHQ-15) and general health (SF36-V2) in order to understand the impact of negative emotions and dificculties in emotional regulation on individual physical well-being; and also relate the participation of the variables previously identified (emotional regulation, stress, depression, anxiety) in physical symptoms and physical illness. After analyzing the results, more evidences of this bidirectionality mind-body and / or body-mind, multi-causality and interrelationship between the various causal factors, such as theetiological explanation of the diseases are added to the pre-existing literature.
