ROTEIRO DESENHADO DA CIDADE DE COIMBRA A observação e o registo gráfico na prática da atividade turística

Abstract

Esta dissertação procura refletir de que forma uma tipologia alternativa de roteiro, tendo como principal diretriz o registo gráfico, pode auxiliar o viajante na aprendizagem e fruição do espaço da cidade. Neste sentido, pretende-se analisar o conceito da viagem, à imagem do turismo e do turista, e o campo do desenho, de uma visão geral a uma vertente mais profunda de observação. O estudo terá como alvo a relação e cruzamento destas temáticas, do contexto histórico e evolutivo à atualidade, de maneira a compreender o contributo do Grand Tour dos séculos XVIII e XIX tanto para a origem e uso do roteiro/diário de viagem, como para o desenvolvimento do olhar turístico, e de que forma este impactou o turismo moderno e contemporâneo. O discurso procura ainda clarificar a prática do desenho como ferramenta de registo e comunicação e, quando exercida no ato de viajar, perceber de que modo estimula, posteriormente, ao apelo da memória e à construção de uma imagem visual dos objetos e do espaço. Coimbra, localidade de relativa afluência turística alicerçada na sua Universidade, serve de contexto espacial da análise proposta enquanto desempenha a função de suporte para a criação de um protótipo de roteiro.Palavras-Chave: Viagem, Turismo, Turista, Grand Tour, Desenho, Memória, Coimbra, Roteiro .

This dissertation seeks to reflect how an alternative typology of guidebook, having as main guideline the graphic register, can help the traveller on the learning and fruition of the city space. In this sense, the intention is to analyse the concept of travel, in the image of tourism and the tourist, and the field of drawing, from an overview of the concept to a side of deeper observation. The study will aim at the relation and crossing of the themes, from the historical and evolutionary context to the present day, in order to understand the contribution of the 18th and 19th centuries’ Grand Tour both to the origin and use of the guidebook/diary of travel, aswell as to the development of the tourist gaze, and in what way it has impacted modern and contemporary tourism. The speech also seeks to clarify the practice of drawing as a tool for registration and communication and, when exercised in the act of traveling, to understand how it later stimulates the appeal of memory and the construction of a visual image of objects and space. Coimbra, a locality of relative tourist affluence based on its University, serves as the spatial context of the proposed analysis while performing the function of support for the creation of a guidebook prototype.Keywords: Travel, Tourism, Tourist, Grand Tour, Drawing, Memory, Coimbra, Guidebook .
