O Castelo de Salir: estudo das suas materialidades arqueológicas

Abstract

O presente relatório é resultado de um estágio realizado na Câmara Municipal de Loulé, no âmbito da conclusão do 2º ano de Mestrado em Arqueologia e Território. O objectivo principal deste foi a análise e atualização dos parâmetros das fichas de inventários dos materiais referentes ao Castelo de Salir, concelho de Loulé, juntamente com o estudo formal e funcional desses materiais de época almóada, visando a sucessiva publicação, em forma de catálogo. O Castelo de Salir, foi alvo de trabalhos arqueológicos sob a direção de Helena Catarino desde o ano de 1987 a 1998. Os materiais aí recolhidos constituíram parte do espólio de uma grande exposição realizada no Museu Nacional de Arqueologia, Lisboa, intitulada de “Loulé. Territórios, Memórias e Identidades.”, que albergava não só objectos do Castelo de Salir, mas também outros materiais provenientes de diversos sítios arqueológicos de Loulé. O retorno dos materiais a Loulé, proporcionou o momento mais oportuno para o estudo dos mesmos.O espólio presente em análise cingiu-se aos materiais pertencentes à exposição de Lisboa, das exposições presentes no Pólo Museológico de Salir e no Núcleo Sede. Durante a inventariação dos objectos foram ainda identificados, materiais armazenados na Reserva do Museu, que pelo seu grau de interesse foram integrados no grupo a analisar. O estudo do espólio englobou parâmetros morfológicos, formais e funcionais, tendo os objectos sido alvo de divisão formal e funcional, revelando dados em termos de distribuição das peças pela Península Ibérica e confirmado algumas das cronologias dos materiais, comparando-os com outros conjuntos de objectos e sítios arqueológicos semelhantes ao Castelo de Salir, nomeadamente o Castelo de Paderne, Silves, Alcácer do Sal e Juromenha.

This report is the result of an internship held at the Municipality of Loulé, within the scope of the conclusion of the 2nd year of the Master's Degree in Archeology and Territory.The main objective of this was the analysis and updating of the parameters of the material inventory records referring to Castelo de Salir, municipality of Loulé, together with the formal and functional study of these materials from Almohad period, aiming at the successive publication, in catalog form.Castelo de Salir, has been the target of archaeological work under the direction of Helena Catarino from 1987 to 1998. The materials collected there were part of a large exhibition held at the National Museum of Archeology, Lisbon, entitled “ Loulé. Território, Memorias e Identidades.”, which housed not only objects from the Castle of Salir, but also other materials from various archaeological sites in Loulé. The return of the materials to Loulé, provided the most opportune moment for their study.The collection presentend in analysis was limited to the materials belonging to the Lisbon exhibition, the exhibitions present at the Museo Pólo de Salir and Núcleo Sede. During the inventory of the objects, materials stored in the Museum Reserve were also identified, which due to their degree of interest were integrated into the group to be analyzed.The study of the collection encompassed morphological parameters, both formal and functional, with the objects being the subject of formal and functional division, revealing data in terms of the distribution of the pieces throughout the Iberian Peninsula and confirming some of the chronologies of the materials, comparing them with other sets of objects and archaeological sites similar to the Castle of Salir, namely the Castle of Paderne, Silves, Alcácer do Sal and Juromenha.
