Sports activity is extremely important in the health context, with a clear motivation for its practice. One of the sports that involves more athletes is basketball, where the human body undergoes rapid reactions, emphasizing the contact of the foot with the ground and the muscular activity. The main goal of the present study was to evaluate the distribution of plantar pressure and muscle recruitment in the lower limbs, in different basketball movements. Supported by a group of 9 volunteer athletes from a basketball team, a data acquisition protocol was defined in order to identify the changes that occurred throughout the sports season. In this study, the maximum values of plantar pressure were evaluated in both feet, as well as the activation time and the percentage for each repetition in comparison with the value of the maximum voluntary contraction. Five movements were defined and studied, namely the running with and without ball, lay-up on the right side and left side, and rebound. In order to guarantee the necessary conditions of data reliability and repeatability, 7 repetitions were performed in each one, which occurred in two different moments of the sport season: beginning, in November and season peak, in March. The results were statistically analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics software. In a first phase, a study was carried out to identify the ideal number of repetitions, which gives a higher percentage of confidence in the results, and that leads to an optimum value of 6 repetitions.Overall, the results obtained did not present statistically significant changes between the two seasons presents in this study, for both plantar pressure and electromyography. However, at the distribution of plantar pressure, a slight decrease is observed throughout the sporting season, while in the muscle activation time the opposite occurs. This evolution occurs for all movements, except for the rebound, where there is a contrary evolution.
