Bibi e os Crustáceos: Argumento Original de Animação

Abstract

Bibi e os Crustáceos é um argumento original para longa-metragem de animação cujo personagem principal é uma baleia que engravida e se vê numa jornada em busca das águas quentes e seguras do litoral, vindo a receber o auxílio de aliados e a sofrer diversos desafios. Chegando ao litoral, depois de quase sucumbir muitas vezes, tem seu filhote junto ao costão da praia, iniciando, com seu filhote, a jornada de volta para o oceano profundo. O guião é seguido por um relatório que aborda questões artísticas e filosóficas para a criação de enredo e personagens, bem como fundamentos técnicos de construção do guião cinematográfico, utilizando-se, para isso, de obras de autores com Joseph Campbell e Syd Field.O guião nascera de um argumento literário, que foi sendo adaptado para o formato tradicional de guião cinematográfico, ao longo que o estudo das técnicas de desenvolvimento de guião foram se intensificando. No relatório, reflete-se sobre a conceção do plot em relação à conceção dos personagens, principalmente da personagem principal. Há uma abordagem expondo a escolha dos personagens, de seus potenciais simbólicos e de suas funções no enredo. Reflete-se também sobre a originalidade da obra, e sobre sua relação com outras obras e com a própria da realidade. Faz-se uma abordagem comparativa entre a estrutura de escrita do guião, com a estrutura do paradigma das criações de histórias segundo a Jornada do Herói. Finalmente, cita-se a importância da teoria para que o autor tenha criatividade, inspiração, e desenvolva uma história com um enredo cativante.

Bibi and the Crustaceans is an original script for a feature-length animation movie whose the main character is a whale that get pregnant and starts a journey to the hot and safe waters of the coast, receiving the aid of some partners and suffering a number of challenges. Arriving at the coast, after almost succumbing many times, she has her pup by the shore, starting, with her pup, the journey back to the deep ocean. The script is followed by a report that considers artistic and philosophical questions to the plot and characters creation, as well as technical bases to the script development, using, for that, works of authors like Terence Marner, Dominique Parent-Altier, João de Mancelos, Otto Rank, Joseph Campbell and Syd Field.The script was born from a literary argument, which was adapted to the traditional script format, as the study of script development techniques intensified. The report reflects on the design of the plot in relation to the design of the characters, especially the main character. There is an approach exposing the choice of characters, their symbolic potentials and their roles in the plot. There is some part on the originality of the work, and its relationship with other works and with the reality itself. A comparative is made between the script's writing structure and the paradigm structure of story making according to the Hero's Journey. Finally, the importance of theory is cited for the author to have creativity, inspiration, and to develop a story with a captivating plot.
