Os Festivais de Cinema e a sua Organização

Abstract

O relatório surge como resultado do estágio curricular referente ao Mestrado de Estudos Artísticos vertente de Estudos Fílmicos e da Imagem da Faculdade de Letras de Coimbra. Depois de várias conversas com o meu orientador sobre o âmbito do trabalho, decidi escolher o tema “Festivais de Cinema e a sua Organização”. O estágio curricular realizou-se no festival Caminhos do Cinema Português em Coimbra, com uma duração de 6 meses.O trabalho que desenvolvi foi bastante abrangente e trabalhava paralelamente com as várias áreas de coordenação do festival. O trabalho de investigação permitiu avaliar o nível de organização do festival tendo em conta a sua programação, gestão de espaços, recursos humanos, logística e recursos financeiros. Os festivais de Cinema e a sua Missão Social surgem como outro importante ponto de análise, já que o festival organiza atividades para crianças, jovens e séniores, tendo sempre a preocupação de programar filmes fora dos padrões comerciais e que de outra forma não seriam vistos.Ao chegar ao fim do período de estágio sinto-me bastante mais autónoma, com maior capacidade de resolver imprevistos e gerir meios. Consegui perceber como funciona, na prática, o funcionamento de um festival de cinema. Como estagiária tive o privilégio de acompanhar o festival ainda no seu início: desde a obtenção dos primeiros patrocínios, das decisões na programação, das candidaturas dos voluntários, da formação das equipas, dos imprevistos da produção. Tudo isto terá um forte impacto na minha formação académica e profissional e vai demonstrar-se bastante útil quando, mais para a frente, encontrar situações que exijam a resolução de imprevistos. Sem dúvida que esta primeira experiência no mundo profissional me abrirá portas num futuro emprego na área, já que adquiri uma relevante experiência profissional.

The report comes as a result of the curricular internship related to the Master of Artistic Studies study of Film Studies and Image of the Faculty of Letters of Coimbra. After several conversations with my advisor on the scope of work, I decided to choose the theme "Film Festivals and their Organization". The curricular internship took place at the Caminhos do Cinema Português festival in Coimbra, with a duration of 6 months. The work I developed was quite comprehensive and worked in parallel with the various coordination areas of the festival. The research work allowed to evaluate the level of organization of the festival taking into account its programming, space management, human resources, logistics and financial resources. The film festivals and their social mission emerge as another important point of analysis, since the festival organizes activities for children, young and old, always having the concern of programming films that are out of commercial standards and that otherwise would not be seen. As I reach the end of the internship period, I feel much more autonomous, more able to solve unforeseen problems and manage means. I was able to see how a movie festival works in practice. As a trainee, I had the privilege of accompanying the festival from the beginning: from the first sponsorships, from the scheduling decisions, to the volunteer applications, to the formation of the teams, to the unforeseen events of the production. All this will have a strong impact on my academic and professional background and will prove very useful when, later on, I find situations that require the resolution of unforeseen events. Without a doubt, this first experience in the professional world will open doors for me in a future job in the area, since I have acquired a relevant professional experience.
