dc.description.abstract | Clinical analysis are one of the most important complementary means of diagnosis, as they contribute to the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of pathologies or diseases of greater or lesser severity. The Master of Clinical Analysis, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra, includes as a curricular unit a final internship, which aims to take the student to a real working context, deepen and consolidate theoretical knowledge already acquired in the first year of the Master of Science. Clinical Analysis, which offers a range of theoretical curricular units, where we acquire the necessary knowledge for the final curricular internship, as well as acquire new skills at the practical level in the various areas. This internship took place between December 2018 and May 2019, at the Germano de Sousa Laboratory of CUF Viseu Hospital. This report features the internship laboratory, the Biochemistry, Immunology, Hematology and Microbiology sectors. Given the diversity, extent and complexity I will only highlight the last two, since they were the valences chosen by me.However, I will briefly address the first two areas - Biochemistry and Immunology - as in the area of Clinical Analysis they are equally important. The curricular internship aimed to solidify the knowledge already acquired, to be in a real work context, where it was possible to integrate a laboratory routine participating in various daily tasks, from receiving samples to monitoring validation of results. | eng |
