As Recentes Alterações no Setor das Farmácias em Portugal e o Valor do Farmacêutico na Farmácia Comunitária

Abstract

O plano curricular do Mestrado Integrado em Ciências Farmacêuticas contempla disciplinas que pretendem abordar todas as áreas em que o farmacêutico pode exercer e aplicar os seus conhecimentos. Neste mesmo plano curricular, está incluído o estágio curricular que finaliza esta formação. Apesar de dispor da oportunidade de passar por mais do que uma vertente nesta unidade curricular, optei por realizar o estágio, na íntegra, em farmácia comunitária. O presente documento inclui o meu relatório de estágio em farmácia comunitária, segundo uma análise SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) em que, para além de enunciar as atividades do estágio, abordo também alguns casos práticos relevantes para a minha aprendizagem.Hoje em dia, a sociedade assume o farmacêutico como um profissional de saúde, podendo este ser encontrado em diversas áreas focadas no medicamento, desde a sua produção até ao momento em que é dispensado ao utente. Apesar do panorama atual, o caminho para que esta profissão tenha a visibilidade que hoje lhe está inerente foi um processo que tomou séculos de história de profissionalização e luta para a obtenção daquele que é o estatuto de farmacêutico. Hoje, o farmacêutico é um profissional que se rege segundo normas legais, estando abrangido por um código deontológico específico. Ao longo dos últimos anos, a farmácia comunitária – vertente que reúne a maior parte destes profissionais – tem vindo a sofrer alterações na sua regulamentação, que podem representar ameaças para esta profissão. Assim, torna-se necessário analisar e avaliar os impactos destas alterações, bem como averiguar quais os novos caminhos a seguir para reforçar o valor deste profissional.

The curricular program of Integrated Masters on Pharmaceutical Sciences includes subjects that intend to teach and show all the areas in which pharmacists can work on and apply their knowledge. On this program, there is a curricular internship, which is the end of this academic formation. Although I have the opportunity to do more than one internship, i decided to do it all in community pharmacy. This document includes my internship report in community pharmacy, according to a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), in which, in addition to a description of all the activities of this internship, i also included some practical cases, which were relevant to my learning process.Nowadays, society assumes pharmacist as an health professional which can be found on several areas focused on drugs, from its production to the moment it is dispensed to the user. Although its current condition, the journey that this profession underwent to get the visibility that it has today was a process that took centuries of professionalization history and struggle to obtain the pharmacist status. Today, pharmacists are professionals that are governed by legal norms and are covered by a specific code of ethics. Over the past few years, community pharmacy – a field that brings together the majority of these professionals – has been undergoing changes in its regulations, which may represent threats to this profession. Thus, it is necessary to analyze and evaluate the impacts of these changes, as well as to find out the new ways to reinforce the value of professionals.
