Abstract

O filme de ficção na aula de língua estrangeira.A utilização do cinema, mais propriamente do filme de ficção, nas aulas de Francês despertou o meu interesse desde o início da minha já longa prática letiva. Cedo me apercebi das qualidades do filme e da sua aceitação extremamente positiva por parte da maioria dos alunos. Progressivamente fui aperfeiçoando a minha forma de trabalhar com o suporte fílmico nas aulas, sempre colocando os alunos numa postura ativa. Estas foram as razões pelas quais escolhi o tema teórico que é objeto central deste relatório. A primeira parte apresenta a minha experiência profissional, desde os meus primeiros anos até à atualidade, e reflete de forma crítica sobre o meu percurso como docente, enquanto a segunda parte aborda o tema da utilização do filme de ficção na aula de língua estrangeira. A riqueza do filme (que conta uma história) permite aprender e adquirir competências de comunicação autênticas e o professor, que deverá ser formado e informado acerca do tema, pode fazer da sua aula um acontecimento que deixa marcas nos seus alunos. O cinema possui uma dimensão emocional que interessa ao ensino das línguas. Pela emoção, o filme favorece a memória, aumenta a motivação, fortalece o espirito de turma e cria a empatia necessária para compreender a cultura do outro. Na escola de hoje, graças à imagem vídeo, aos suportes digitais e à Internet, o professor de língua estrangeira pode tirar partido destas novas possibilidades técnicas para modelar a sua aula tornando-a num acontecimento cheio de emoções e por isso de inegável interesse para os alunos. Como princípios metodológicos para explorar o filme na aula de língua estrangeira, destacamos três momentos: antes, durante e depois do visionamento.Finalmente, defendo que a escola necessita urgentemente de uma “alfabetização da imagem”, e que esta só acontecerá através de professores formados nessa matéria e com recursos ajustados.

The fiction film in the class of foreign language.The use of cinema, more properly the fictional film, in French language teaching has aroused my interest since the beginning of my already long teaching practice. I soon realized the qualities of films and the extremely positive acceptance by the students. I have been progressively improving the way of working with films in class, always trying to involve the students learning actively. These are the reasons why I have chosen the theoretical theme that is the focus of this report, whose first part presents my professional experience, from my first years to the present, and reflects critically on my career path as a teacher, while the second part addresses the theme of using the films in the foreign language class.The richness of the film (that tells a story) allows you to learn and develop authentic communication skills and the educated and informed teacher can make his class an event that has a deep impact on his students. The cinema has an emotional dimension that matters to the language teaching. Through emotion, the film benefits memory, enhances motivation, strengthens the class spirit, and creates the empathy needed to understand the other´s culture. In today's school, thanks to video and the digital media (such as DVD and the Internet), the foreign language teacher can take advantage of these new technical possibilities to model his class making it an event full of emotions and therefore of interest to the students.To present our methodological approach to the use of films in the foreign language classroom, we highlight three moments: before-viewing, while-viewing and after-viewing. Finally, I defend that school urgently needs an "image literacy", and that this will only happen through teachers trained in this subject and with adjusted resources.
