Abstract

“A sciencia não é só porque cria riquezas, porque fomenta os progressos materiaes, eporque espalha a flux benefícios na sociedade, como porque é educadora do espirito e do caracter;como porque é emancipadora de preconceitos e escola do pensamento livre; como porque éconciliadora, tendendo a approximar os homens pelos laços affectivos e de concordia; - a sciencia,digo, é verdadeiramente bemfeitora da humanidade.” (BERTHELOT). Ferreira da Silva in AIMPORTÂNCIA E A DIGNIDADE DA SCIENCIA E AS EXIGENCIAS DA CULTURA SCIETIFICA(DISCURSO NA SESSÃO DA ABERTURA SOLENE DA UNIVERSIDADE DO PORTO, EM 1 DENOVEMBRO DE 1911)Este relatório refere-se ao estágio realizado no Laboratório de Análises Clínicas doCentro de Saúde Militar de Coimbra no âmbito do Mestrado de Análises Clínicas pelaFaculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Coimbra.O seu objetivo era que o aluno contatasse com a realidade laboral a fim de poderaplicar e sedimentar os conhecimentos adquiridos ao longo do ciclo de estudos. Com aoportunidade de passar por todas as valências (Hematologia, Bioquímica, Imunologia eMicrobiologia) pretendia-se que o aluno tivesse uma aprendizagem integrada.Como forma de atingir este objetivo, pude estar em contato, não só com umlaboratório físico, mas também equipamentos, sempre que possível de vanguarda, o quepermite uma maior fiabilidade dos resultados clínicos. Uma grande variedade de fatoresconfrontam o analista na realização do seu trabalho e, de fato, à parte dos equipamentos queestão em permanente desenvolvimento, o profissional de análises clinicas tem que ter emconta critérios/conhecimentos científicos para uma análise rigorosa no que diz respeito àárea de saúde, o que proponho expor.Este trabalho representa ainda o esforço e trabalho de equipa que se fazem sentir nolaboratório já que o seu principal foco são os utentes e, por isso, garantir um bomdesempenho para que se possam fazer bons diagnósticos.Foi pois, apoiado num trabalho de campo, que procurou ser o mais preciso possível.Serão enunciadas técnicas e características de duas áreas, a saber, hematologia e bioquímica.

Ferreira da Silva in THE IMPORTANCE AND DIGNITY OFSCIENCE AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF SCIETIFICAL CULTURE (SPEECH AT THESESSION OF THE SOLENE OPENING OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO, ONNOVEMBER 1, 1911)This report refers to the stage carried out in the Laboratory of Clinical Analysis ofthe Coimbra Military Health Center within the scope of the Master of Clinical Analysis, bythe Faculty of Pharmacy from the University of Coimbra.The main objective is that the student to contact the work reality in order to be ableto experience the knowledge acquired during his / her study cycle. With the opportunity topass through all the valences (Hematology, Biochemistry, Immunology and Microbiology) itwas intended that the student had an integrated learning.As a way to achieve this purpose, I was able to be in contact, not only with a physicallaboratory, but also with equipment, whenever possible leading edge, which allows greaterreliability of clinical results. A great variety of factors confront the analyst in the performanceof this work. In fact, apart from the equipment that is in constant evolution, the professionalof clinical analyses has to take into account criteria and scientific knowledge for a rigorousanalysis in the area of health, which I propose to do.This work also represents the effort and teamwork that are felt in the laboratorysince its main focus is the users and, therefore, to guarantee a good performance so thatthey can make good diagnoses.It was therefore supported by a field work, which sought to be as precise as possible,that i carry out this work. Techniques and characteristics of two areas, namely hematologyand biochemistry, will be enunciated.
