Conjugated polyelectrolytes, conjugated polymers which have ionic groups, are important materials that have applications in a wide variety of areas, including chemical and biological sensors, charge transport layers, light emitting diodes (LEDs) and photovoltaic systems. In this experimental work the interactions have been studied between the anionic conjugated polyelectrolyte, poly(9,9’-thiosulfatohexyl)fluorene) (BA3), dissolved in dimethylsulfoxide-water solution, with various surfactants, DTAB, CTAB, SDS and C12E5. In addition, electrical conductivity was used to study the behavior of poly(9,9’-thiosulfatohexyl)fluorene) with DTAB and C12E5.Subsequently, colloidal solutions of gold nanoparticles were prepared and characterized. Since this polymercotains a thiosulfate group in its structure, it is possible to induce the chemical reaction to form Au_S bonds between the polymer and the nanoparticles. Because of this, a study was made of the modification of the gold nanoparticles using various concentrations of poly(9,9’-thiosulfatohexyl)fluorine for a constant concentration of AuNP.Finally, a study was made of the interaction of poly[N-(1-aza-16-crown-6)-carbamido-2,5-thienileno-alt-1,4-phenileno] (BG2) with various solvents, co-solvents, surfactants and metal salts. These experiments were carried out using the techniques of UV-vis absorption, fluorescence and multinuclear NMT (1H and 13C) spectroscopy, conductimetry and dynamic light scattering (DLS). The combination of all these methods allowed a detailed structural characterization of these systems.
