O IMPACTO DO TERRORISMO: EFEITOS DA EXPOSIÇÃO INDIRETA EM MENORES DO ENSINO BÁSICO

Abstract

O tema do terrorismo foi o escolhido para ser abordado nesta dissertação pois o seu carácter alarmante e emergente tem-se feito verificar diariamente e, é um tema cada vez mais abordado pelas ciências sociais. Tentar compreender o terrorismo bem como quem são os principais terroristas é fundamental, mas é tão necessário compreender a actualidade como compreender o passado. Este passado é a base das motivações para, cada vez mais, o terrorismo ser utilizado e, para haver cada vez mais pessoas a acreditarem nele. Devido às delicadas temáticas desta dissertação, foi necessário recorrer a uma abordagem multidisciplinar onde são abordados temas relativos à psicologia clínica, psicologia criminal, advocacia e a antropologia social e cultural. Este tipo de abordagem é cada vez mais comum, pois quanto mais completos forem os conhecimentos envolvidos, mais eficientemente se consegue resultados positivos. O principal objectivo foi estudar o terrorismo e, posteriormente foi compreender como isto afecta a população jovem do nosso país. Tendo efectuando um estudo etnográfico com base na analise comportamental dos jovens e das suas famílias em ambientes de grande movimentação populacional ao longo do país e questionários anónimos a 240 jovens de todo o país.O terrorismo é um tipo de crime desafiante devido à existência de poucos dados para análise e da ausência de informação por parte das autoridades competentes. A negatividade colocada à volta deste tema especialmente quando tratado perto de crianças,é mostrado por parte dos adultos uma grande resistência na abordagem.

Terrorism is now part of our daily lives and it is a reality that we already have to deal with. Due to their unstable character and the lack of control we have about the possible attacks, some issues arise concern-ing the routine of families as well as the increase of worries around loved ones. The fact that in Portugal there has never been an attack does not make us just mere spectators, since there is a categorization of indirect victims if there is any kind of alteration due to the fear and the repercussions that are felt.Due to the delicate themes of this dissertation, it was necessary to resort to a multidisciplinary approach in which subjects related to clinical psychology, criminal psychology, advocacy and social and cultural anthropology were addressed. This type of approach is increasingly common because the more fully the knowledge is involved, the more effectively it achieves positive results.What I set out to study was whether these changes are significant or not, and whether they are already aware for young people who have not been directly victims of an attack. Having carried out an ethnographic study based on the behavioral analysis of the young people and their families in environments of great population movement throughout the country and anonymous questionnaires to 240 young people from all over the country.Terrorism is a type of crime that is challenging due to the lack of data for analysis and the absence of information from the competent authorities. The negativity placed around this theme especially when treated close to children, is shown by adults a great resistance in approach.
