Digitalização de documentos epigráficos: Em busca de um deus e de uma oferenda (IRCP 339)

Abstract

Os resultados da investigação nas tecnologias do tratamento digital de imagens podem constituir excelentes ferramentas de análise no âmbito dos estudos epigráficos. Assim, procura-se exemplificar aqui como, partindo de fotografias de arquivo da inscrição IRCP 339 e aplicando algoritmos digitais, é possível criar novas imagens que permitem interpretar marcas ocultas não perceptíveis na imagem original. Com esta nova fonte de documentação, outras perspectivas se abrem para o epigrafista.

Digital image processing technologies could be an excellent analysis tool for epigraphic studies. This paper, try to show how starting from archival photographs of the IRCP 339 inscription and the application of digital algorithms, it is possible to create new images that allow interpreting hidden marks not perceptible in the original image. New perspectives open up for the work of epigraphist.
