Although more than two hundred years have passed after the donation of Alcoentrinho, royal Manique of the Intendant, by Queen Regent D. Maria I to Diogo Inácio de Pina Manique, for the good services rendered to the kingdom, it is still possible to see in the village Part of the Enlightenment idea, thought by Manique himself, for its residence and agricultural colonization. Due to the unexpected death of the encomendador in 1805, and consequent French invasions that affected all the constructions in course at the time in Portugal, the work in the palace, the most important building of the town, was left incomplete. Over the years, the building has undergone to successive changes ranging from improvement works, roofing construction and even the installation of a Day Center for Old Age that was never completed. All these interventions, without any criterion, contributed to the aggravation and degradation of the palace, making it the ruin that remains to this day. Thus, the present work aims to presente a proposal of requalification for the Manique Palace of the Intendant and its surroundings and therefore be a contribution to the improvement and appreciation of both the building itself and the village that until now lives a bit in oblivion.
