O final do mundo romano: (des)continuidade e/ou (in)visibilidade do registo nas paisagens rurais do interior norte da Lusitânia.

Abstract

Com base tanto nos trabalhos de prospeção como de escavação efetuados na Beira Interior nos últimos anos, procura-se rastrear os traços que permitirão esboçar as paisagens rurais e sociais no final do período romano no interior norte da Lusitânia. A partir do conjunto de dados conhecido (e intuído) discute-se sobretudo a questão mais complexa da continuidade/transformação vs rutura que a diversos níveis se pode colocar para esta região específica no período pós-romano.

(Dis)continuity and/or (in)visibility of records/traces in rural landscapes of the northern interior of Lusitania. Based on work of prospecting and excavation carried out in the area of Beira Interior (Portugal) in recent years, the author seeks to identify the traces that allow us to make a sketch of the rural and social landscapes in the northern interior of Lusitania at the end of the Roman period. On the basis of already known (or inferred) data, the paper focuses on the discussion of the more complex issue of continuity/transformation vs. rupture that can be raised at several levels for this particular region in the post-Roman period.
