Abstract: Os revestimentos exteriores são a primeira linha de defesa dos edifícios contra as ações externas, como o vento, a chuva e as variações de temperatura.
The exterior coatings are the first line of defense against the buildings external aggressors, such as wind, rain and temperature variations. For these reasons, it is essential to guarantee a proper durability, as well as a pleasant and lasting visual functionality. The most commonly used coating in our country remains being the plaster mortars, which may be mainly composed by lime or cement, traditional, in-situ or pre - dosed. The performance of mortars are usually determined by conducting laboratory tests under controlled environmental conditions, which are dictated by specific norms. However, the material behavior is not the same for both the mortars applied on laboratory and the mortars applied on actual mold supports. As such, it is important to realize if the features of the substrate and the interface between the different building materials will influence its behavior. Due to the lack of information that characterizes these products, this study aimed to analyze some of the factors that may influence the performance of mortars after being applied on the support. Therefore, the following study focused on the influence of the type of surface and curing conditions on the final performance of different types of mortars, namely cement mortars and one-coat mortars
