Dilma Rousseff da Ditadura ao Facebook : a construção da imagem do indivíduo na política

Abstract

A dissertação que apresentamos intitulada “Dilma Rousseff da Ditadura ao Facebook: a construção da imagem do indivíduo na política” propõe analisar a construção da imagem da presidente do Brasil, um ator político, através do fotojornalismo brasileiro. Um dos objetivos principais desta análise é compreender como o passado e a sua trajetória política se refletem na sua imagem pública atual. Com o objetivo de compreender este percurso no fotojornalismo, traçamos uma breve história da ideia de imagem, bem como da fotografia e do fotojornalismo, salientando as mudanças tecnológicas e de percepção que operaram. Jacques Aumont, Martine Joly, Walter Benjamin, Gisèle Freund, Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag e Lucia Santaella, são alguns dos autores que compõe o processo de análise e interpretação das imagens. Para a compreensão da percepção do indivíduo e de sua realidade, trazemos os teóricos Jakob von Uexküll e Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Recorremos, em seguida, às teorias e conceitos que abordam o discurso político, com vista a compreender as interrelações entre este e a imagem, para tal destacamos dois autores: Hannah Arendt e a sua concepção de poder e ação e Patrick Charaudeau, no que toca ao discurso enquanto mediador. Para aproximar o fotojornalismo dos novos media e do novo espaço público digital, trazemos os conceitos de “cibercultura” e “ciberdemocracia” abordados por Pierre Lévy. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa optamos por seguir os métodos não interferentes propostos por Clara Pereira Coutinho os quais consistem em técnicas de recolha de dados sem interferir no ambiente. Por fim, apontaremos para as transições das imagens de Dilma Rousseff em seu percurso de militância política.

The present dissertation entitled “Dilma Rousseff from Military Dictatorship to Facebook: the construction of the image of the individual in politics" proposes the analysis of the image construction of the Brazilian President, a political actor, through the Brazilian photojournalism. The main goal of this analysis is to understand the implications of her past and political career on her current public image. In order to understand this context in photojournalism, we present a brief idea of the image the photography and photojournalism, highlighting the technological and perceptual changes that operated. Jacques Aumont, Martine Joly, Walter Benjamin, Gisèle Freund, Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag and Lucia Santaella are some of the authors whose ideas are useful to the process of analyzing and interpreting images. The theoretical work of Jakob von Uexküll and Maurice Merlleau-Ponty will be specially useful to understand the individual’s perception and their reality. On the following part, we use theories and concepts that treat the political discourse in order to understand its connections to elements of image. In this point, we emphasize Hannah Arendt’s conception of power and Patrick Charaudeau’s conception of the discourse as mediator. The concepts of “cyberspace” and “cyberdemocracy”, provided by Pierre Lèvy, will be applied to approach the photojournalism theories and this new media and new digital public space. To develop the research, we chose to follow the non-interfering methods proposed by Clara Pereira Coutinho that consist in data collection techniques without interfering with the environment. Finally, we address the image transitions of Rousseff on her political activism.
