Percepção da conjugalidade por casados e recassados : a inelutável comparação

Abstract

O presente estudo tem como objetivo principal analisar em que medida o tipo de relação, casamento ou recasamento, influencia e/ou diferencia o ajustamento e o funcionamento conjugal. Pretendemos também atender a algumas variáveis sociodemográficas (género, idade, estado civil e habilitações literárias) e familiares (duração da relação, número de filhos e etapa do ciclo vital familiar) que podem funcionar como mediadoras. Para tal recorremos aos instrumentos: Questionário Sociodemográfico e de Dados Complementares, Escala de Ajustamento Mútuo e o inventário Enriquecimento e Desenvolvimento Conjugal, Comunicação e Felicidade. Procedemos, assim à comparação de duas subamostras: casados (n=161) e recasados (n=161), pertencentes a uma amostra de conveniência. Os resultados mostram que nas relações conjugais com menos tempo de existência, os sujeitos recasados investem mais na sua relação; que a existência de filhos no ciclo vital familiar facilita em alguns aspetos o funcionamento conjugal nas subamostras Casados e Recasados; que os sujeitos do género masculino, da subamostra Casados revelam níveis mais elevados nas subescalas que avaliam o ajustamento conjugal, bem como se sentem mais satisfeitos na relação conjugal, apresentando, também, níveis mais elevados de idealização e que os sujeitos entre os 30-39 anos recasados apresentam um maior nível de coesão mútua e de ajustamento mútuo. O presente estudo, além de poder impulsionar novos estudos e conclusões, fornece informação importante que pode ajudar terapeutas e outros especialistas a pensar e a atuar, na prática clínica, de forma mais organizada e fundamentada.

The present study aims at analyzing to what extent the type of relationship, marriage or remarriage, influences and/or differentiates adjustment and marital functioning. We also intend to meet certain demographic variables (gender, age, marital status and educational qualifications) and family (length of relationship, number of children and family life cycle stage) that can function as mediators. For this we used the instruments: Sociodemographic Questionnaire and Supplementary Data, Dyadic Ajustment Scale (DAS) and inventory Enriching & Nurturing Relationship Issues, Communication & Hapiness (ENRICH). We proceed thus to compare two subsamples: married (n = 161) and remarried (n = 161), belonging to a convenience sample. The results show that in marital relations with less time being, the subjects remarried invest more in their relationship, and that the existence of children in the family life cycle facilitates some aspects in the marital functioning in subsamples married and remarried, that subject males, the subsample married reveal higher levels subscales that assess marital adjustment and feel more satisfied in the marital relationship, showing also higher levels of idealization and that subjects between 30-39 years remarried have a higher level of cohesion and mutual adjustment mutual this study, in addition to boosting new studies and findings, provides important information that can help therapists and other specialists to think and act, in clinical practice, more organized and reasoned.
