A importância do punk em Portugal : o movimento punk nacional e o caso estudo da banda Mata-Ratos (1982-2010)

Abstract

Esta tese aborda o Punk, uma subcultura juvenil baseada na música, atendendo sobretudo ao seu surgimento e desenvolvimento em Portugal. Através da sua prévia contextualização a nível internacional, a dissertação pretende evidenciar, analisando o impacto que a música Punk e seus diversos subestilos tiveram no nosso país, que as dinâmicas da globalização, apesar de predominantemente de carácter económico e financeiro, são também de carácter cultural e artístico. São assim analisados nesta dissertação factores e contributos que esta subcultura fomentou em Portugal, terminando com o caso de estudo da mais antiga banda Punk nacional actualmente em actividade, os Mata-Ratos.

This thesis addresses Punk, a youth subculture based on music, and analyzes its emergence and development in Portugal. Through previous international context, the paper aims to highlight, by analyzing the impact of Punk and its various substyles had in our country, that the dynamics of globalization, although predominantly economic and financial, are also of cultural and artistic. The dissertation analyzes the main factors of this urban tribe and the contributions given by it to the Portuguese culture, ending with the case study of the earliest punk band currently in activity, Mata-Ratos.
