dc.description.abstractEsta investigação teve como ponto de partida a avaliação do comportamento informacional da comunidade de docentes/investigadores, doutorandos e pós-doutorados da Universidade de Aveiro face à sua biblioteca digital. O estudo exploratório pretendeu avaliar e compreender as atitudes, comportamentos e opiniões destes utilizadores de forma a delinear novas estratégias que permitam à Biblioteca Digital da Universidade de Aveiro cumprir a sua missão como agente facilitador da difusão da informação, bem como da sua recuperação. O estudo de caso teve como instrumento fundamental de recolha de dados o inquérito por questionário e contribuiu para um conhecimento mais aprofundado sobre o impacto da Biblioteca Digital como recurso informacional e a sua aplicabilidade no apoio ao ensino-aprendizagem e à investigação na Universidade de Aveiro. Propôs-se igualmente investigar os factores que pudessem constituir obstáculo ou predisposição para a utilização do meio digital, particularmente no que concerne à relevância dos conteúdos da Biblioteca Digital para as actividades de docência e investigação.por
dc.description.abstractThis research was based on the evaluation of the informational behavior from the University of Aveiro’s community of teachers/researchers, Ph. D. and Post-Ph. D. students towards its digital library. The exploratory research aimed to evaluate and understand the attitudes, behaviors and opinions of the mentioned community in order to define new strategies allowing the Digital Library of the University of Aveiro to accomplish its mission as an agent who promotes the diffusion of information as well as its retrieval. The case study used the survey method as the main instrument for collecting data and contributed for a deeper knowledge about the impact of the Digital Library as an informational resource and its applicability as a support to teaching and learning and to the research in the University of Aveiro. It was also proposed to a research the issues that might be considered as obstacles or the predisposition to the use of the digital environment, particularly concerning the relevance of the Digital Library contents to teaching and research activities.por
