Poder e Justiça no Reinado de D. Afonso IV.

Abstract

Desdobrando-se em torno da concepção de poder que subjaz à discursividade da documentação régia de D. Afonso IV, trata-se de fazer emergir à luz do dia esta língua comum, o substrato significante a partir do qual emergem os enunciados fragmentários que se inscrevem nesses documentos, na medida em que só a dilucidação desse substrato, dessa pré-compreensão impensada, que desapareceu do chão comum que pisamos, permite dar significado às expressões relativas ao exercício e fundamentação do poder que, no reinado de D. Afonso IV, se vão enxertando na textualidade oficial, e que remetem, inexoravelmente, para esse húmus significante que constitui o contexto a partir do qual cobram sentido. Dar a ver o impensado que se imiscui por entre as brechas do que se pensa, o dizer que comanda o dito, fundamentando-o e conferindo-lhe inteligibilidade. Não se trata, portanto, de uma tentativa de apreensão da efectividade prática do uso do poder por parte de D. Afonso IV, da análise dos mecanismos concretos que ele implementa para gerir o Reino, mas de uma proposta de compreensão da discursificação dessa acção, do modo como esta é a-presentada , pela escrita, na documentação, e dos dispositivos de legitimação que a sustentam e procuram definir, bem como das tessituras que se vão entretecendo entre o texto dos documentos afonsinos, e discursos outros, mais abstractos estes, nomeadamente os dos teóricos políticos e os dos jurisprudentes : tentativa de criação de uma malha intertextual, que entrelace discursos de tempos e espaços diversos, no interior da qual os enunciados mutuamente se esclareçam e iluminem. Desvelamento que levará a uma forma outra de apreensão das modalidades através das quais esse poder se legitima, numa apreciação crítica de algumas das asserções dominantes na historiografia medieval.
